i'm not white, i haven't had a straight perm, but my mom's friend is my hair person...she told me that straight perms are bad for you if you get it from the wrong people. do your research. go to a good place that doesn't use fake nasty chemicals..just realize that if you get a straight perm, you're not allowed to straighten your hair...something about the chemical and the heat not good together or something.

Just do it... a friend of mine got it doens, and it looks great! Looks as though she straightens it everymorning. So yeah. But, when your hair starts growing out, you know, it'll be coming out curly/wavy/whatever, and it'll look kinda weird when the rest of the hair is all straight... but yeah, it would save you a lot of hassle.

The Japanese striaght perm I'm porbbaly going to get will make it stay striahgt and i won't have to do all the work. Also it won't damage my hair and it lasts for nearly a year.

The Japanese Straight Perm doesn't work. Trust me.

i`d get it..it would be a lot healthier too..instead of straightening your hair everyday..i`ve had a lot of "white" friends who got it done and they look great!

yeah, it might burn your hair. maybe you should straighten your hair before you go, and ask the professional if you would look good if it stayed liek that forever. maybe some other hair experts or friends could give you tips on what you look good in or not.

ok my hair is CRAZY CURLY, thick, frizzy all that jazz, I did the straight perm and it worked ok but not the straightness I wanted....it just kinda made it frizzy straight not smooth straight...so I ended up using a straighter every morning anyway..but it was easier
