OMG PSP IS SOOOOOOOO GOING TO BE BETTER!!! That huge LCD screen with its high resolution (drool)! Its better that PS2 graphics on those delectible UMD discs!! WOOT! Ur also going to be able to play movies that come on the UMD discs WOOO!!! Who wants a shitty DS where u have to look at 2 screens to play? Who wants a fat clamshell covered in 5 lbs. of plastic? Who wants to hold a stylus while playing games??? Who wants graphics between n64 and ps2? NOT ME!! The only thing DS has on the PSP is the game selection and the price! biggrin.gif

So you are telling me you are going to opt to buy a movie on those UMD discs rather than buying a regular DVD? Don't talk about how great a certain aspect of something is unless you are going to actually use it. Who in their right mind would restart a video collection on UMD when you already have DVD? You can ONLY use it on the PSP. I want to see your whole family huddled around your PSP as you watch a movie. I am getting the DS because I am actually going to use it. Bluetooth, online gaming, pictochat, yes 2 stupid screens. 10+ battery life instead of the measly 2 hour projected life of the PSP battery. You said it yourself. The DS has GAMES and price over the PSP. Now why would you buy a PSP when you don't like the games as much as the DS games? Stop being a "kind-of" fanboy. I want a shitty DS. I want to look at 2 screens. I want a fat clamshell covered in 5 lbs. of plastic. I want to use a stylus (or finger). I WANT GAMES THAT I WANT TO PLAY! cool.gif

dude, there are such things as dvd rippers and probably will be UMD burners, since this is sony.

PsP will have better games like metal gear solid and gran turismo and final fantasy

Stylus? How are you supposed to use that if your playing a game? If you engaged in a deep battle in that stupid samus game how are you going to use the stylus?

Only projected, not final yet.

The GC's 3 inch optical discs are burn/copy/pirate proof. Id suspect the UMD discs would be the same.

Its used to shoot.

And Metroid Prime could hardly be called stupid.

i dont get it.... UMD means universal media dock... so are they gunna build new hardware that supports this type of media??? cause i mean it says "universal"

i dont know i found out about the PSP and its only 150 bucks and to me that isnt a whole lot of money and its exactly the price of the DS. i love nintendo and dont get me wrong but the PSP is looking much more appealing to me now.. and im kind of scared because PSP is the same price./... but you never know.. if the PSP will sell more than the DS. FRIDAY!

After realizing what the DS looked like and what the PSP looked like, I've changed my views. IMO, I don't find it that great having two screens. Not only that, but the whole outlook of the Nintendo DS looks really bulky. Even though the PSP is about the same size, it has way better graphics, not to mention that you can watch.. ANIME ON IT! W00T! 512 MB memory stick cool.gif

My boyfriend's getting a PSP. What a waste of 250$ stubborn.gif Ah well, at least he's not getting a DS. I like Nintendo games, initially, but I'm not a fan of the system. I'd rather stick to my GBA SP, thank you very much. wink.gif

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Who wants to play with a portable that's plugged into the wall, and if it isn't, the battery dies in 1 hour?

Who wants to blow $400 in one shot?

Who wants their handheld to break in 2 years?

If you said yes, you want a PSP.

Now,

Who wants a handheld that is made by a company that has been making handhelds for 20 years?

Who wants a handheld that has a great library of games?

Who wants a handheld which has wireless lan capabilities?

Who wants a handheld with a touchscreen, stylus and voice recognition, with plenty of possibilities using the three?

The choice is the DS for me.

PSP does have lan capabilities, you could also plug it into your ps2 and play each other and you could listen to music and they are coming out with a USB camera and GPS!!!! and keyboard. Its not going to break in 2 years. only if you dont care of it and its not 400 dollars, its 250 for the value pack and the batery life depends on the your brightness of your screen and on your volume.

Now get your facts stright. =]

and the only game you will need for PSP is GT4 =]]

Look at the date on my post. I was working with the information available from JULY 2004! I said $400 because I did not know Sony would be selling the PSP at a loss, and $300-$400 range was a good estimate for the PSP back then. The PSP is fragile. The screen will scratch, the drive will skip (or shoot UMDs), and the buttons will stick.

You know the PSP is wider than the DS...

By the way, you can also watch movies on the DS, the movie player uses Compact Flash instead of the expensive Memory Stick.

GBA SP is great, but DS is backwards compatible, and I'd like to play the new advance wars game, so I think I'll pick up a DS.
