so, i like..JUST dyed my hair from a jet blackish black to a bownish redish that's dark. The only thing is..ONLY MY TOP PART TURNED COLOR. Like, really close to my roots..Everything ele just stayed the same. WHAT HAPPENED!? I followed the rules and everything plus, I've dyed my hair many times. And does anyone know a GOOD brand for "Asian" hair?

You obviously did something wrong.
Either not mixing in a certain chemical, or well, your hair color being too dark to take any notice, but your roots were lighter and took to the color more so. Don't redye your hair yourself, you'll only screw it up even more. |

just kidding then..i asked someone else.
-It didnt work because you dyed your hair a darker color before. A light color cant go over a dark color. Unless that dark color is your natural hair. The roots are the only ones that got colored because thats your natural hair. Youll have wait for your hair to grow then keep on cutting it untill the previous dye completly grows out before you can dye the whole thing again. Hang in there. Im going throught the same thing now. - oh well, ill just dye it back tomorrow. |

You should wait a couple of days, so you won't do further damage to your hair. You can make it weak/brittle and cause split ends, and even cause hair loss.
Just keep washing it out, some of the dye should wash out. |

Yeah, get it done professionally, that's the only to ensure you won't damage your hair, and you'll actually get the color you want.
Look for beauty schools in your area, they charge alot less then most professional salons for hair coloring; they may be students, but for the most part, they do a good job, and their teachers usually supervise. |

DO NOT dye your hair again. Once I dyed twice in a row.. let me just say.. orange/brown. Yuck. Try many washings.. use a good conditioner. Give it a few days, then go to a salon and see what they say that they can do about it. It could be costly, but it will be worth it.
That reminds me. I want to dye my hair burgundy again. |

QUOTE(bravodancer04 @ Mar 14 2005, 10:05 AM) I'm not talking about going to Fantastic Sam's, or anything near that. No offense, but for that price, that's not professional. I've gone to several places to get my hair done, and this is what some of the prices looked liked: Mario Tricoci's - $75 (I had two colors; overlayers and underlayers done) (forgot the name) - $110 (all over color, and a trim) Paul Mitchell Beauty School - $45 (this was the beauty school) JCPenney's - $110 |

there's no such thing as asian hair. they're all same. even though you followed the directions or you think you did. are you sure you really did, maybe you didnt understand one thing? heh it happened to me once actually... it was waste of a product because it was expensive and like it completely got ruined >.<; i was so mad that i wanted to sue the product but i realized that i did something wrong. i thought i did follow the directions, but i asked my friends since they are the professionals...i just missed out on one thing... eh felt so foolish. i dont think i have a helpful information for you, but a tip i guess. always go to the hair salon to do it for you hehe

you can't dye black hair any colour really. i had my hair dyed black for awhile and the only thing that worked to get it out was going to a salon and having them strip the colour *thats bleaching it pretty much*
