we are doing the holocaust in english...and we have to make an abc book on it..

oh god, what a horrible idea! i mean, your project looks nice, but your teacher's choice for a project is simply horrible. what is she trying to do, turn the holocaust into some happy little kindergarten book? this is ridiculous. what are her students supposed to write? "G is for genocide! see Hitler kill all the people just for their religion!" "J is for the millions of Jews who died!"

no stupid alphabet book can capture the horror of the holocaust. i'm shocked that a teacher would reduce the seriousness of such an event to that of a FREAKING ALPHABET book. aren't any of your classmates Jewish? i would be totally offended by this project. this is the stupidest, most inconsiderate thing i've seen a teacher assign.

i think you should report this to the principal.. especially if one of your Jewish classmates is upset by this project. i mean, look at those pictures! all those people -- dead. and they are taught about to students through an alphabet book.

*sigh* I remember having to do ABC books.. We never had to do one on this topic. I would probably ask for a different topic because like Mindy said, it is the "stupidest, most inconsiderable thing that a teach can assign." Even though I'm not Jewish or anything, it's as if the teacher thinks that the Holocaust is something that doesn't mean much. There are people out there who still mourn for those who died for that. And here you are posting more and more pictures for your ABC book.

it is an interesting way to learn about the holocaust.. it requires students to go and research for specific terms that RELATES to the holocaust, and put visual pictures for people to understand it.. i see it as a different way of teaching the holocaust.. and making the experience even more realistic..

I'd complain anyways despite the fact if your class may or may not have jewish people. This is degrading and sick, and moraly/ethically wrong in my opnion. Heck, I'd bring this to the admistration if i ever had to do a project like this.

jesus christ, i cannot believe you are allowed to do this assignment. sorry i may seem biased being as i am jewish, but this is NOT the way to learn about the holocaust. your teacher should be fired. this may be one of the most...offending for lack of better words, ways i have seen the holocaust presented. it was such a horrible event and the 6 million who died do NOT deserve to be taken lightly.

I've always wanted to make a chapter of a German textbook centered around the Holocaust and learning WWII-related German. After all, "blitzkrieg", "Furher", and "lebensraum" are really the only words you need to communicate with Germans. Let's have a go at this:

B is for Bolshevik, the enemy of all civilized people and ally of the Jews and Slavs
C is for Concentration Camp, one of the vicious rumors perpetrated by Soviet propaganda
