there are many meanings to hook-up.
hook-up could mean making out, &/or anything beyond that. (such as, oral or sex ..) it also means officially an item -- bf&gf. thats all i could really think of but thats what it basically means. idk how else to explain it, hope you get the idea. |

one of the things hook up is: your friend sets you up with someone else....meh, something along those lines.

i think it means like 2 ppl getting together (as a couple). or someone could "hook ppl up" and make the people bf and gf. thats basically what it is. never heard of that ^

Usually when I hear "hooking up," I think of it as a "friends with benefits" thing or unofficially and temporarily dating... Sort of like an unofficial fling.
I never heard it being used as "becoming bf and gf" because it was never used in that issue. |

To me hook-up means to date someone or someone like a friend hooks you up with someone.
