I searched through the [entertainment] forum to see if a prior thread pertaining to the aforementioned subject had been made, and didn't see any.. soo.
Personally, I'm a book-worm. Always have been since I was younger (was an avid collecter of the The Berenstain Bears' books). List your favorite books and/or authors. Authors: - Richard Wright - Alice Sebold - Dean Koontz - Anne Rice - Stephen King - Sandra Brown Books: - Native Son by Richard Wright - Good In Bed by Jennifer Weiner - From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz - The Big Picture by Douglas Kennedy - White Hot by Sandra Brown |

I'm not much of a reader, but I did love The Giver and The Outsiders. Haha, I had to read them for school, but I really enjoyed them.

QUOTE(Shortiiex @ Mar 9 2005, 3:23 PM) My grandma bought me those books a few Christmas' ago. Honestly, I don't see how anyone can stand reading them, they're written so poorly and laskdjflkajsdfklj1 aalaksdjf. You should check out some of the Sweet Vally High Senior Year books, now those are some entertaining books ;). Haha, the author stopped writing new ones for that novel years ago I think, but you can still find them in most bookstares. I still have that entire series, books 1-45; there are more after that I think, but I haven't looked around to see. |

For this year I decided to make a list of every book I read and/or reread, so I can see how many books I've read, and whatnot. For school I probably read more books then I did after I was done with it. I was either bored in class, so I brought books to read, or I finished the required reading for my Lit and American Novel classes, so I just read books for enjoyment. I had this thing where I would read beyond the homework given (aka, read chapters 1-3) because well, I don't read a book, and just put it down until I have to read it again. So I always read the book the first two days I got it. Well, except for the Scarlet Letter. The one book in my entire education thus far that I never read. I skimmed it for quizzes and such, but. yeah. Worst book, ever. |

I skimmed it for quizzes and such, but. yeah. Worst book, ever. thats a good idea. i started a list once, but lost it before i had a chance to write down 4 i hate the particular chapter bit too. it just about killed me during the great gatsby, because unlike the other books we read this year, i actually liked it. but i had to go at the class's rate (which was fortunately fast since it was practically an AP class) because we get incredibly hard pop quizzes that are detailed enough that i wont rememebr if i read ahead, because of the way theyre set up. i read huck finn in the first couple of days, failed half the quizzes because of it, so i had to do well this time. i read the scarlet letter last semester. TERRIBLE. i ...kind of read it. i would try to read it, but i actually could not pay attention at all, and so not have a clue what id read anyway. it was miserable |

Haha, I read Huck Fin the first day I got it. I usually just skimmed the chapters before a quiz/test so I could remember inane details. For the most part, I usually have a good memory when it comes to books, but for anything else, I usually forget (especually during my senior year, when I was in my adv math/trig class; I could never remember specific formulas no matter what.)
What year are you in highschool? |

I can't remember much of what books I read during my sophomore year. That was my year of rebelling aka dropping out of all of my honors classes to piss off my parents.
I think we read some Greek Mythology, always a favorite of mine. Oh, it was Othello we read. I remember, I got the only A +5 ec points. mwaha. That, and when she played the newer version of the movie 'O', she didn't know about the newer sex scene, so of course immature comments went throughout the room. hah. |
