tattoos, safe or dangerous? kool or not? Options

I just did a search and found that there was no debate about tattoos. So here are my questions for you:

Do you think tattoos are danerous or safe?

I think tattoos can be dangerous if you go to a tattoo parlor that doesn't have a good reputation and good sterilizing methods, etc.

I think the pain level depends on where u get the tattoo.

I don't have any tattoos.

I want 4. an ankh on my arm, angel wings on my back that say "Tamara Elaine Jobes 1986-2004", a shooting star (not sure where), and a faerie on my ankle.

I don't think I'll regret them because I've thought long and hard about this. and I still have another year and a half before I turn 18 and can get them. I'm getting them all in places that are easily covered.

So I guess you could say that I'm neutral.

I think I'd regret it later.
You can get it removed, but it's a more painful and a more expensive process than the actual tattoo was.

i think they can be dangerous if you get it done with an unsterilized needle for example, but i don't care if people get them. its their choice. i personally might get one in the future, but only a small one. and in a place that i can choose to show it off or hide it. and i'm sure it will hurt. but whatever.

tatoo's are safe it just depends where your getting one.
i mean like the only way u can get a infection is if the needles have germs
so they are pretty much safe
but personaly i wouldnt get one
im young now but when i turn 30 ill get all wrinkly and that tatoo would
look just nasty

I want a tattoo, but definitely not on my back. If you get it on your back there's a possibility of the ink seaping through your skin and weakening your spine. That's why I want it on my arm...

The needle for the outline doesn't hurt as much as the inking because the inking is compared to a small electrical buzz. Plus your body is supposed to relase endorphins quite quickly. If you get it on your collarbone or something like that it would hurt a bit more then on your arm or something obviously.

Of course it could be dangerous if you don't go to a reputable tattoo parlor for it to be done. So it just depends if you've done the research, and if you've found an good references to a tattoo parlor nearby.

So I'd have to say I'm for it, but I'm somewhat neutral...I don't really care if people think it's wrong or awesome. Body modification has been done for the past thousand years by many different cultures. =] So you can't necessarily say it's wrong, but it's your opinion and I'm all for that.

i say they would have to look cool, but only on certain people. it doesnt mix with bad attitude, however..cuz people like that are usually in gangs and stuff..

once this speaker guy who came to my church to talk had tattoos all overrr his arms. he said it felt like a sunburn,...and rubbing an eraser over it

Do you think tattoos are danerous or safe? I think that if you go to a good parlor, then they are safe. Do research. also, you must realize that if you get one on your back. when you are having a baby you cant get an epideral (Pain killer shot)

Are tattoos painful or pain free? They are painful. I got mine done on my lower back, and everytime the needle went over my spine it hurt more... it felt like electric scissors tearing through my skin. The outline hurts the wrst. The inking isnt so bad, because by then your skin is becoming numb and your endorphins are shooting out pain killer.

I have a 3inch by 4 inch cross on my lower back that says "forgiveness" with a purple sash. i want a trail to come out of it... but my husband wont let me. LOL, so I'm fine with what I have... but DAMN! They are do addictive. You get one, the urge to get another is soo strong.


If you have/got a tattoo would you/will you regret it? I regreted it the first week I got it... because it was just weird to have something marring my nude body... but I dont regret it anymore. It is an expression of my faith, and I will always treasure it.

Its more dangerous to get in a car every day than to get a tattoo, my uncle is a retired tattoo artist, he used to work down at Jade Dragon in Chicago --one of the most respected and well known parlors in the country. They use a new needle on every person so chances of infection of minimal, but do still exist. Most people say it didnt hurt as much as they thought, but it is still pretty painful. Especially if you get it sensitive spots like the back, spine, neck, and etc. I have my name written in small letters on my ankle right above my ankle bone. My parents were hesitant at first but now they could care less --I was 14 at the time.

I think they are cool, it depends on who does them really if they are dangerous. Just make sure the person who does it is a real tattoo artist and peircer!

wow thats a lot of questions... i think its somewhat painful but i gues sit really depends on where you have it and is it safe? depend son where you get it done... and i don't have any but i wnat one on my lower back right on top of tha pants line meaning where my wasit is on the back some big and nice funky design i would really wnat one but don't wnat to regreat it when i get old and i can't have a taoo for what ever it is that i do... and i really really hate the fact that its forever...a re there any where you get it and it will eventually wash off? not liek a hanna tatoo one that stays for maybe a year...

If the sticker ones that are non-permanent, I think those are okay.

If the permanent ones which requires a needle, I don't really like those becuz they'll stay on forever and you might get infected easily.

If you do your research and know and trust your tatto artist then it's not overly dangerous. But like with anything like this risk exists.

I dunno for myself but my mom has two and said it doesn't hurt near as much as she thought. She said your skin starts to get all tingly and goes numb.

Yes I definately want atleast two that I know of. One I want a pair of fallen angel wings on my shoulder blades and once my friends and I graduate high school we plan on getting a small tattoo or piercing together to signalfy eternal friendship. I'm not sure what yet though.

Most likely no. Unless I get totally smashed and get loser or something tattooed on my forehead, which I doubt will EVER happen :) . I think tattoos have some kind of meaning to you whether it was pre-determined or not. I mean you don't walk into a tattoo parlor and go "Eenie Meenie Minie MO! That one!" Well atleast I hope not.
