on nights like these
-melissa when you're standing outside, in your yard in the middle of the street you stretch your arms wide, hugging as much of this world that you can throw your head back and take a breath not just a breath, breathe in and fill those lungs a rush of air, fresh and crisp, making your head dizzy a cold rush up your nose and down your throat everything feels like chills on a night where nothing is stirring, except maybe a few crickets here and there the only thing shining, the solitary streetlamp competing with the moon those stars that were never noticed before, always obscured by the clouds they multiply by the dozens and stretch across the dark, dark blackish blue. throw away thoughts of tests and teachers gone with the worries in the house run, run down the street. feel the rush of the cool, night breeze against your body, your face, fingering your hair. it feels like it can last forever. and now that the trash is done being taken out go back into the house. you're mom is calling you. |

Haha, a touch of the comedic side in a writer...
That was very well done...I can really feel the freedom the narrarator is describing. And I also love the line QUOTE the solitary streetlamp competing with the moon I kinda think that it would be good without the little comedy bit at the end. But it's great nonetheless. |
