This is a selection from a collection of stories I had to do for an English class.
It's not how I usually write...I had to be straight-forward, simple and all that junk. But, sometimes being simple and straight-forward is the most effective route to get a message through. Meh, whatever.

Advice

One of the things I'm very proud of is my ability to help others out with great persistence and determination. I really try to go out of my way, And many seem to appreciate and look up to the insightful advice I am able to hand them. I guess one trophy moment for my dedication to helping others was a Friday night which pushed me to the limits of my loyalty to others. I was talking to my one friend who apparently was having trouble dealing with her mother. It was too much for her - she wanted her lie to end right then, and was prepared to fall by her own hands. She confessed all this to me, and I couldn’t just simply sit there while the clock ticked closer to her selfish death. I remember telling her to meet me out at the street near her house. Fortunately, she didn't live too far. I remember running so hard, the cold air aching my lungs. I was running, for the first time, with someone's life on the line. Well, like I said, I'm not too shabby with the advice. I'm glad she ended up changing her mind.

I don't know much about writing but I think this was very touching and does deliver the intended message effectively. Good work.

Sad part is, she went off and became a meth addict in high school...
Oh well, what can you do.
