i looked at the tutorials for blending, and the effect i want is the gradient blending. when i tried it all i got was a gradient. could it be because im using pse 2.0? or is it just something im doing wrong? i fell really dumb for asking this. wacko.gif

hmm..i dunno about photoshop 2. but a problem could be layer masking. did you put a layer mask on before you gradiented? and is the gradient set on the right one and colors?

Yea that happens when you don't make a layer mask usually.
Try making a layer mask first, and THEN do the gradient.

Haha I had this problem for the longest time.

Or...you could do it the easier way and check out the tutorial on blending using the lasso tool and feathering. _smile.gif That's what I do. Hehe.

you click on the little button that has a rectangle with a circle inside it on your layers window, the one on the side. i dunno if ps2 has that though. i'm sure you can layer mask somehow..hmm

The layer mask button should be at the bottom of your layers pallette..
