Hey, I'm new to the forums, And I figured that it'd be good to start things off by posting up some writing I've composed. My favorite piece is too long, So I'll just post up 2 moderately sized ones. These are actually previous Xanga posts of mine. Enjoy.

1. I woke up to a world of misery today, the feeling of being f**ked over still lingering. I had forced myself to sleep, hoping that every feeling bombarding my heart and mind would wash over. Wake up, a new day, a positive feeling. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. I cringed, realizing that I was still stuck in the same spot, the same target for all the pain - bullets each with my name on them.
"No one's here for me..." I whispered to myself, the sentence echoing in my mind, fading away into oblivion. I thanked myself for what I have left. Not completely alone...But why does the feeling still choose not to dissipate into lands of forgotten negativity, frolicking, awaiting their return to the surface? How can I mold any of this into a tool to satiate my hunger for happiness? This...This is a dark seed, implanted into waves of lost frustration, waiting to sprout out apocalyptic hell and disease.
I shook it all off...And got up...Dizzy from utter despair.
"A new day awaits", I sighed, as the sunlight through my window burned my face, welcoming me to the front door of my very own hell.

2. Holding on to what matters. We learn that this is an almost essential part of human psyche and instinct, And can also be the basis of most fundamental situations and reason. I've learned that there are only a few worthy to hold on to, Among all I have to identify as 'what matters' to me in life. Usually, The things we participate in and take interest into become more than just a mere hobby or activity. It becomes a part of our lives, A part of who we are. It can grow into something so powerful that it shapes us, And becomes a very significant building block of ones maturity and growth. We take pride in it, Work on bettering ourselves at it, And even push it into the extremeties of molding our own character to fit in it. And then it turns into something that is almost unimaginable to let go of at that moment. The idea of it lost, Is the idea of losing oneself.
Today I have witnessed an individual very close to me let go of what has become a great deal of who she is. Ironically, The very thing that kept life interesting, Full of challenges and lesson, Was tearing her apart from within. It is really hard to sympathize and relate to such a feeling, To such a decision, And understand how much damage it can be spreading, A pain similar to that of a vacuum, Endlessly pulling down every negative thought to a single point, Until emotional implosion ultimately takes place. It makes one rethink the underestimated significance one may have of a particular hobby or general interest. There may be a few that, Only once gone, Will one realize how truly enormous of an impact it can make in that persons life and composure. If we can abandon each thing around us that makes us who we are, Every interest, hobby or dedication that separates us from society immersed in conformity, Then can we truly recognize what's left of who we have become, In all it's bare and empty glory?

Thanks to those who bothered to read them. I hope to become a regular in this community.

Haha, Thanks Blake...But I know what you're doing...Go get your own paperclip! mad.gif

The second one's mysterious? Hm, Well, If you'd like to know, I was writing about my cousin who left her basketball team. She was putting her heart into it, But wasn't getting the game time she deserved. And it made me think, Watching how it shattered her, And how much it affected her life...How something like a school sport could do so much to someone.
