What is a jocker? All I know is that it is like a layout stealer or something? Can you get sued for using a layout with permission if the perosn requires it? and can you get into legal trouble/ suing if you remove the credit? Not saying that I did. Jw.

A jocker is a person that steals a layout and/or takes off the credit of the one who made the layout.
If the person that made the layout copyrights, and I mean really copyrighted, their works then yes, the jocker can get sued. But if they just slapped on a © and did not really copyright...I don't know if they can sue and successfully win. |

Jw. but still:] what Amaranthine said is correct, but the graphic design community is big here and either A.] Everyone gains up on you for jocking [Ex. Simplicity layouts] B.] the admins here on Cb will contact you to remove a layout you have jocked, stole, because once it is on Cb, it is also under the right of CB and the designer, so both CB and the designer will share "credit" and if other sites steal layouts from CB designers then CB will take action. Ex. Unwritten layouts please view this thread for more about jocking http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=202511 if anyone is caught ,then they are on that thread permantely :] |

Everyone else is right. If something is copywritten, then yes, the owner may take legal action. Copyrighting something isn't as simple as saying that there's a copyright on your image.
If you submit something to this site that involves ANYTHING that you copied from another source, it will be removed and you will get in trouble. You may use other resources, but copying someone's layout code and editting the colors is not using the code as a resource. If you go to the scripts section of the website, those are resource codes. |
