Gays of Create Blog

So I decided to start a gay support system on Create Blog. I don't want to be preaching to all of you; I don't want to change your minds. But this is just a little topic that has been running through many minds of teenagers these days and I am always willing to give advice on this topic.

For all of you who don't know who I am, I'm Kimo. I am a gay. I came out at the age of 13 to everyone at school and later my family. Coming out is a nervous expirince for everyone, but in the end, when you are able to live your live the way you want to, it's worth it.

So come on Create Blog, let's exterminate homophobia!

Apparently gays are just as guilty of poor grammar/spelling.

Also, you are not "a gay." Gay is not a separate race/religion. It's a sexual orientation. I don't go around calling myself a straight. The way you worded it as "a gay" could lead one to believe that y'all are trying to distinguish yourselves as a completely separate group. By achieving that status, you could claim to be a minority, then demand benefits. Gay rights is a crock of shit.

I support an individual's rights, period.

Homophobia is a very foreign sentiment to me, but I grew up surrounded by theater types. I know that is a big time stereotype (homosexuals in theater) but I can tell you from first hand experience that there is a solid reason why it is a stereotype. ;)

Anyway, good luck with this. Oh and you might want to have this moved to the Relationships forum, but that is just my opinion.

I'm different again, I love the opposite sex.

Anyone want to join the Straights of CB Club?

Really, you're just alienating yourself.

Ok, out of curiosity, how is this any different than the Official Chinese Club, the Official Filipino Club or the Official Vietnamese Club as far as alienation goes? I know, I'm annoying and it's an annoying question but I'm asking it anyway.

The approach could have been different, I guess. *shrug*

Sexual orientation seems to me to be a personal matter and not something for there be a 'club' about.

Well, in complete honesty, I'm not much for clubs in general. Was just curious.

You don't "CHOOSE" to be gay, it just happens. Sometimes its a phase and sometimes you go through the phase to be "gay" if you must

Can't say I'm entirely convinced, I might start a topic in Debate about this. It feels at times as though the homosexual community is doing whatever it can to be as flamboyant and as loud as possible in regards to shocking society. Clubs, gatherings, parades, nightclubs, societies, media attention, Elton John...

Now the counter-argument to that is the freedom of speech and the need to shock a close minded society into acceptance.

Not to be another person to rain on your parade, but gays make the biggest deal out of their sexual orientation than straight people do; therefore, "alienating" yourselves. I don't view you as anything different or special, you just prefer men like I do.

I support your right to be close minded, and adding Elton John to that list. LOL :P

That's the thing. I've seen gays do a lot of extravagant things to "prove" themselves to people, and how is it helping you? How is flaunting it going to get people to loosen up? That you have "issues" we straight people should accept? No. Go ahead and stand up to give a shout-out to gays, but it's that type of behavior that gets people to view you differently in the first place. Straight people don't make issues out of their sexual orientation, and I don't think gays should, either.

RIGHT ON SISTA! Gays to me always want the sympathy vote. They feel as though they should get more because they are different from everybody else. If that is the case, then lets treat each race different, and women different, and so on and so forth. Everybody is equal. Doing this only brings unnecessary attention that I am sure you didn't want.

I guess its because the way the are treated by some in society. I mean when is the last time you heard of a dude getting jumped by a group of guys just for being straight as opposed to getting jumped for being gay?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember back in the day when people would get offended on this site if you used the word gay out of context. If you said something was gay people would get worked up over nothing. I guess they thought it would offend gay people or something. _unsure.gif

I will no longer be cautious to what I type. From this day forth I will keep it real and say bump this. I just can't kick it with you gay folk.
