Like, things that really comfort you when you're on your period. Any ideas?

The essential of a "period kit" would have:
+ Pads/tampons (well, duh)
+ Midol (never used it though)
+ Heating pad (ditto above)
+ Non-salty foods (to avoid bloating)
+ Chocolate XD.gif

i actually have a period kit.

it's got 2 super plus tampons (becuase im extrememly heavy)
2 regular tampons
2 super tampons
2 panty liners
1 pair of clean underwear
some wipes
midol
chocolate (i always crave chocolate on my period. and i hate chocolate)

and then i just put it all in my small vera bradley wristlet. and that goes into my bag.

Uhm.... kit? lol
I have stuff in purse, but that's about it. My friends always come to me for stuff because I have everything in my purse (but it's not that big, I swear) I even have bandaides and Neosporin XD.gif

But yeah, gotta have tampons, pads, midol, and.... yeah.

Chocolate and warm foods are really comforting. You'll crave them.

Heating Pads are nice.

I used to take Excedrin for the cramps.

And taking a hot bath helped for me, atleast for the cramps, but heating pads are nice as well.

Try not to exercise like crazy that week as well, or push your body too hard.

Hmm, much of this will seem like an echo of previous responses, but here goes -
  • Chamomile Tea - The most relaxing natural beverage, ever.
  • Water Pills - Being bloated is so uncomfortable and can absolutely ruin a day. They have these OTC (over the counter) at places like Target
  • Tylenol/Excedrin - I know most like Midol, but I have to say that in my experience, just plain ol' Tylenol or Excedrin does the trick
  • Lots of water - Yep, guess what happens when you're on your period - You loose fluids. Drink lots of water
  • Chopin CD - Ever heard Etude In E 'Tristesse,' Op. 10 No. 3? It's beautiful and so serene.
  • Lavendar bath crystals (warm baths are so soothing)
  • Dark chocolate

1. Calcium Or Tums - if you take enough calcium a day or at least 4 of those Tums it will really help and help decrease some of the symptoms from your period such as bloating, food cravings, and moodiness..

2. Drink tons of water & stay clear of salt - Salt retains the water in your body which is probably the biggest and main cause of being bloated, water flushes out all the toxins in your body and will make your feel better. Also if your really moody on your period you may want to stay away from the caffeine wink.gif

3. If your on the go a lot then get those Thermacare heatwraps - I'm sure they'll work wonders wink.gif Cramps are just muscle spasms in the uterus, and the easiest way to relax them is with heat. Heating pads of course work well too if your able to just sit or lay down and rest. For really bad cramps though a good suggestion is to use anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. And of course what many love midol I'm sure will help too _smile.gif

4. Tampons/pads - of course.

Suggestion

5. Exercise - Even though its the last thing you would ever want to do at a time like this, it works really well. Exercising helps regulate hormones, decreases stress (nice when your really stressed about school and things ;]), and your body is producing endorphins which naturally put you in a good mood _smile.gif

Hope this helps?

^worthy.gif Amen. Those are some really helpful tips. thumbsup.gif

For me, I don't really have a kit...but I would have pads with me, duh.
I usually don't have cramps so I don't need pain relievers. Also, I crave even though I am not on my period, so I have to have food with me 24/7.

  • Advil or Midol
  • Chocolate
  • Pads/tampons
  • Heating pad
  • A milkshake
  • Some hard candy to suck on
I always go for the cranberry cough drops when I get mine, for some reason.
