I'm guessing they are similar stretches to ballet.
You're going to need splits, make sure you just stretch those everyday. Not much more you can do for them than that. I'm no sure what it's called in figure skating, but in ballet it's a penchee (figure skaters do the same thing). 1. Face your back to a wall (make sure it's clear to the ceiling and tall enough for you to fit both legs split apart) 2. Start out putting both hands on the floor in front of you, but once you get it perfect like that remove your hands from the floor and arch your back up towards the leg. That is the actual positon it's supposed to be in. 3. While keeping one leg flat on the floor against the wall, put the other leg up behind you on the wall. Push in as far as you can. It should look like you're doing a split against the wall. Then do backstretches as well. If you needed anything clarified (sorry that wasn't a good explanation) just let me know and I'll do step by step pictures. |

She described that to me, and I tried it, and I have deemed it virtually impossible... or maybe I'm not doing it correctly. Can you show me the pictures? I've heard of doing splits on chairs too, and they push you down as you do it. |

Only do the second one if you have it perfect on the floor, it can severly damage your knees.
We have people stand on ours legs in straddle, it's a blast. I'll post the pictures sometime later. |

Lean over and take your skates off! Skating sucks! That is the best exercise you could ever do.
