Hey, okay so I have really thick wavy hair. And I was just wondering how some people get the wet-scrunched look.. I cant really find a picture; but i've seen it around.

Like for example, sometimes when I scrunch my hair w/mousse, when its done airdrying, it looks completely poofy and curly.

(blowdrying is NOT a good idea for me.)

anyway anybody have any ideas??

To get that look, you first wash your hair, untangle all the tanglies, then take a comb (not brush) and put gel (not hairspray) or mousse all throughout your hair and comb and then scrunch. You need to towel dry you hair before you do this, you don't want a wet back afterwards. Then hairspray maybe.

I don't have curly hair but I did ask my friend 2 years ago how she did her hair (the wet-scrunched look) and she told me this.

I used to have that problem, too! I just towel dry my hair or let it air dry and while it's still a little damp, I'd scrunch it with mousse or gel and after I felt that I've scrunched it enough, I tie it up into a bun to make it not poofy. =] Hope it works for you!

Oh I do this everyday to my hair.
after a shower or whatever.... brush and towel dry.
put gel in your hair then comb or brush or whatever it to the style you want.

then like flip your hair a few times.. so its not like flat. tthen lots of hair spray.
blah hard to explain.

I don't have a link but go to the google how to pages. (idk if you know what I'm taking about) and search srunch hair. That's how I figured out to do mine. I use gel and LOTS of hairspray

I've always braided my hair and then took it out after a day or so and then put moose in it or something and take a comb to it. Usually works.

I would suggest using a lot of gel or hairspray or something but not so much on hairspray since that stuff is pretty gross. I would listen to the person with the penguin as their avatar pinch.gif

haha!!
i have the natural straight hair, so it's like a big problem for me!

what i do..

is braid my hair overnight.
then when i go to school, i unbraid it and let it down.
DON'T COMB IT!
maybe with your hands, but not too much!
may cause poofyness!!

anyways.. you could do whatever you want with it!

Without the mousse or the gel or hairspray, by the end of the day the weight of gravity and the hair will make it straight again. (I've tried that so many times and failed) The maximum time that procedure will stay will be about 2 hours MOST without hairspray.

If your hair is anything like mine, it has curl, but it's just picky.

To get my hair to look scrunchy without it resulting in frizz once it dries, I lightly towel dry and as weird as it sounds, don't brush it with a brush, just finger comb it. put some leave in conditioner, mousse and hairspray and I hang my head upside down for a couple minutes[; But that just adds volume to the roots.

I recommend trying bedhead's "Curls rock" products

I usually just like after a shower,I put some mousse in my damp hair, wrap in a towel, and sleep.
Then I wake up with really curly/wavy hair and just run my fingers through it a couple of times

I have special "scrunch gel" and hairspray and it works really good. Its aussie its actually called srunch spray but its the same thing. But yeah your hair has to be wet but towel dried and brush it then put gel in and brush it through your hair. you then scrunch it with your hands and then spray lightly with the hairspray!
