 Alright, so this is how it's going to work. Similar to CBNTM and Last Icon Maker Standing, LxS will be split into rounds. After each round, one designer will be eliminated. The last xanga designer standing, will recieve a pretty sweet prize: a sub-domain and a spot as Createblog's Featured Designer. The Rules are as Follows: 1) No copyright images (see example for clarification). 2) It cannot be a layout made in the past or submitted anywhere else 3) Must be appropriate content and fit the theme 4) After each round, remaining layouts must be submitted to cB 5) Submissions cannot be just an image, they have to be coded as well The theme for the first round will be Nature. This is a pretty general theme, it can be anything involving nature. We'd like to see what you can do with it. Send your submissions to ALL of the following: - Rachael (digital.fragrance) - Reili (fishcake-y) - Kristina (Sherlock.) - Jackie (Gypsy Eyes) Example: For an example, click here. The terms of use on each of the websites creditted for photos and patterns say that layout use is okay. Credit is then placed on the layout where used. Also, this layout fits the theme. i'm scared.
my photoshop hand has waned in skill, and it seems that everyone else's has gotten much better. i don't know if i should join... :\ i don't even post enough to be counted as a member! :b when is the deadline? precal and physics homework pwn me, i think those will be the determinants of me in this contest... |

Can we still like grab a few images from the web, say celestial-star or something and just giv em credit or we hab to make our own image by ourselves? lol. Sorry for misunderstanding. And wat type of layout. Div/frames/or tables. Pls specify. Thankx.

it means you can only use stock photos. YOu can't use other people artworks and give credits. For example, you can't take a manip from DA and turn that into a layout, and give credits to the artist. It's like you didn't do anything. You just take a picture and add some columns to it.

It would be nice to give credit, dont you think?
there are image sites that doesnt mind about "giving credits", but they ask for credit which is optional. |

Okay, let me clarify this copyright situation.
You have to check where you got the picture. Some people say, "You can use my picture, but you better put credits!" So you better have credits. Some places have Terms of Use, and like deviantArt.com, people aren't allowed to use those images without the express written consent of the artist. So I suggest not using those. Just make sure you don't use images that are copyrighted. You can use images from places like celestial-star, but read the paragraph below. I also warn against this: Using an image that has already been altered by a graphics designer or artist - that means you didn't have to really do anything. The judges will take that into account. The layout might be gorgeous, but you didn't really add much to the design, therefore... the design really isn't yours. Try to find the most basic picture possible, and then design/alter it from there. Div, Frames, or Tables Any layout goes!  But I suggest divs (hint) - they might do better than the others...  *hint, hint*Okay, I'll be straight, I recommend div layouts. Other stuff Shelley464, Rose-A-Lee, and MsZ LaDY P - I added your names to the participants list. You can always drop out if you have too, and you guys said you'd try to whip something up. I'm glad you posted here
