are we friends?.., or a bit more that? Options

i have a huge problem right now and i am really hoping i can get some advice for this..if you can help thank you soo much!!

heres the problem:

i like this guy..and i'll call him X. he's a year younger than me. I know him through my friends and i recently started taking an interest in him. We never talked before so we are considered strangers because we only see each other in hallways going to classes. Just a few days ago, i had asked my frnd to introduce me to him..but i was too shy to even talk to him so i ignore him..a day after during recess, my frnd dragged me over to X's locker and left..my other frnd called out his name and he turned around and he sorta looked at me weirdly. At home, my frnd was talking to me online and she decided to have a little fun and three-wayed the convo with X included. she told him my name and shes like i'll leave you guys to talk...but he had to leave so the convo didnt even start. Then, i finally got up the courage to talk to him online and started talking and stuff..he even remembered my name...the day after i talked to him online my frnd dragged him over to me to say hi..i was so freaked i ran off after i waved...that night my frnd told me that X had said he was nervous when he said hi to me...turns out, he was shy too. i only knew him for a little while, to be exact, a week..and i expect him to say hi to me in hallways and stuff..my frnd tells me i should slow down and not race things..i think she's rite..but..she tells me that from her other sources she said he never mentioned me to his frnds or asked about me..and usually when a guy likes you he'd ask ppl about you...so he would noe more about you..im getting positive vibes from him..but i feel funny and annoying talking to him because im always the first one to start the convo...what should i do or say?

hm..well just because a guy doesn't ask around about you , doesn't necessarily mean he's not interested, because like you said he's shy right? so maybe he's just like you and doesn't know what to do either ....so i dont think its a bad thing that you always start the convo , but i guess at this point you'll just have to wait?

thanks so much! but i mean, if he does like me, wouldn't he start saying hi too? cuz i mean its what people do..say hi..unless he thinks i should always be the one doing it?

but.. he cant like u within a week rite..? lol i dont think u should rush things either, let things flow jus be friends for now."for now.." lol and whatever happens happens =]
