I'm kind of embarassed to say this, but I just noticed that I have a huge breakout on my chest and back. I went on vacation last week and I went tanning every afternoon and I used quite a bit of tanning oil all over my body. I got a fabulous tan, but I'm pretty sure the oil caused my skin to break out. Is there any way to clear it up quickly without having to go to the dermatologist? I'd rather not spend a fortune on something someone could easily tell me how to fix. I'm freaking out. I've always have great skin, and this is bothering me quite a lot.

What do you use? Has this happened to you? What works the best?

How old are you? Acne on your chest and back isn't uncommon. I actually have it on my arms too, best thing to do is go to your dermatologist and see what he can do you for - I'm pretty sure there aren't any sure-fire ways to get rid of acne quickly.

I know it's not uncommon, but still. I've never had a problem with my skin so it kind of surprised me. At first I thought it was just sun poisoning or something along those lines, because I had little bumps on my arms and wrists that kind of looked like that, but they went away within a day or so. So I'm sure that the remaining ones aren't from too much sun, unfortunately. I'll be seventeen next week.

I was just hoping there are some over-the-counter products that could easily and quickly treat this, but I don't know.

best bet would be to go a derma. and get a proper treatment. unless you feel like shows us which i doubt you do. or better yet take a picture and compare it to outbreaks information page online. it may seem kinda of gross to do but it might save you some cash.

i know one called benza clin, but it's pretty expensive ($80) and you'd have to go to the doc anyway to get a prescription...i use it on my face and it works really well, but i've never tried it on my chest or back

I think it's too late.

I recently have acne of back, chest, shoulder, breast, and upperbody parts.

no matter how much i try to be clean, it's still there. once it's there ... it's there.

It's been more than 3 months ...

my backacne is the worst. i wasnt SUPPose to get back acne. i didnt even know it's possible to get body acne so ... i keep scratching and popping it ... and eventually, i end up w/ bacne for a year already. i'm 15.

I get that during dance shows.

I highly reccomend Persa-gel 10 from clean and clear. And there was this stuff at walmart called acne free. It work really well.

Use ProActiv, if you have it.

If not, your best bet might be a 10% benzoyl peroxide cream or gel from a pharmacy, Target, etc. They're pretty effective, and not too expensive. The one from Clearasil is pretty good.

I get acne on my back and chest, if I don't use this spray thing... I bought it at the drug store, and it's got a lot of chlorophyl in it. (The stuff that makes plants green.) And it's good for acne. Do you have any cream or acne treatments for your face? Why don't you try putting it on the pimple on your chest, if it works for your face, it obviously should work for your body too.

If it was an allergic reaction, it would go away in a few days. One of my friends is having the same exact problem. She had an allergic reaction with a plant, but it looks like it won't go away very soon and they've stayed on for almost a week.

I read in Seventeen magazine that continually washing your skin will only make it worse because you're rubbing off all the natural oils of your skin.

I would shower as I normally would, use soap to get all the dirt out of my pores and use a lotion all over my body. You could have someone help you with your back. If that doesn't help it clear up, you can use an acne product from Neutrogena or Clearasil or Noczema or something. If that doesn't help after a while, I would definitely reccomend seeing a dermotologist or even your physician. It's good to have a professional's help. _unsure.gif happy.gif

Thanks for the help, everyone. It's pretty much cleared up... I drank a few bottles of water everyday and showerd with the Body Clear Body Scub by Neutrogena and put Clearasil Ultra on it every morning and night. My chest is completely dried up, like... flaky, but that's a heckuva lot easier to fix than the breakout was. Thanks again for your input, everyone flowers.gif
