I walk around, feet moving forward Same old side walks, the same old streets I take no time getting where I'm going Don't bother smiling at the friends in front of me I waste my days away staring in the mirror Waiting to see the face that surfaces in me All that happens is my image gets clearer It's a memory that will never be lost in me I wonder why I try letting go I guess because I don't want to see What the mirror can only show me It's only my reflection Not a dream become reality It's only my reflection Not a gate way to a picture perfect me. Are you trying to escape? do the dreams still haunt you when you're awake. I don't really care, because you're not even there. Thoughts been going through my mind, I think I'm going blind. You make your own nightmares. You stand in the shadows not ready to give them up, A forgotten child who won't run amock. The games you play aren't your favorite ones But you think it's best to play until you've won. You make your own nightmares. You are young, but your face is a portrait of an old You're sensitive, but people think your mask is what's been sold And it's all your fault that they're wrong You make your own nightmares The Rythm Write from your head Write what you feel Write about what they've said A good writer can kill A bad writer can leave you pain A worse one uses a knife But a Real writer can make you live again And show you their life Write with your pen Write from your head Write to begin What seems to never end Write how you've tried and talked about all the time It's your paper and pen Let your mind open |
