Did you put the installation file on the disk?
If you try to put the iTunes files directly on your computer, it definitely won't work.. |

iTunes saves your library automatically.. Just open it up.

No. Reinstalling would delete the files for iTunes itself, not your library.
You can even make a back-up copy of it if you feel unsafe. It should be in your Music Folder under iTunes. |

i dont think you understand what happened.
so here we go: i got an ipod video, but it needs itunes 7.0 well i keep my library on my computer that is not internet accessed. it was at one point, which is how i had itunes 6.0 well i burned the installation from 7.0 on a disk, and loaded on that computer. and it like got through most of the installation and then towards the end it said it couldnt finish or something.. so i exed out, and then i tryed to just open up itunes 6.0 and now when i try to open it it says that itunes is missing stuff to be able to open and i need to reinstall, so now that you know the story what do i do? |

No. It definitely wouldn't.
As I said before, your music library is stored in a separate file, away from the iTunes program files. It's not gonna get deleted if you uninstall/reinstall iTunes. It's in your documents folder under iTunes, if you want to make sure.. |

the reason that could cause the failure of installation is A)ur cd scratch and cdrom can't read it or B)the cdrom lens is screwy/dieing out
U can always dl itunes from the apple website I believe |
