Does your work place have a policy that you can't date your co-workers? Mine does. And I think it's pretty damn lame to be honest. There's this girl, one of my co-workers, and I can't be anything more than co-workers and friends. It's so damn hard not to flirt with each other, because of this policy.

Because I work at my University, and there's lots of students who work here as well, I can't be seen with her outside of the workplace (if that's what you guys suggest we do), or bitches will snitch.

What do you think about no dating your co-workers policy?

LOL this restriction is really eating at you, huh Tung?

No, my jobs don't have a policy that prevents inter-work(?) relationships. Mind you, the two jobs are not very professional and are actually pretty slack. I mean, one I'm tutoring kids and the other I'm renting out skates.

Anyway, the whole idea of the policy at YOUR workplace is just mad stupid. You guys are students, schoolmates, and workmates. Who the hell cares if you are dating or anything. It's not like it will have any huge affect on how you work. Especially when it's a cafeteria job. (you do mean that one, right?)

We do and we don't (have a co-worker dating policy). It's generally not a good idea, but you are allowed to date a co-worker. However, you are not allowed to date someone who reports to you or you report to. So no managers boffing the pee-ons, essentially.

I think that they are prety lame as well. I mean I would have said to do it outside the job, but you said it can't be done. In fact, it can be, but you just have to be a bit sneaky about it!

Okay, ^x2THAT I understand. You wouldn't want any ambiguity about promotions and such, right? Like, "omg did that girl get to take the day off because she's sleeping with him?"

It makes more sense to have the restriction when it's someone like your boss. But, then again, someone you're working with now might get a promotion and then it might come down to you choosing either your job or relationship.

More often than not, office dating ends up in disaster. Then you have awkwardness in the workplace, retarded amounts of tension and a lack of focus.

And elevator sex.

^ You watch too much Grey's Anatomy. stubborn.gif

Anyways, what do they expect from us student workers? When you hire attractive people, and put them to work for 5 hours EVERYDAY, something is bound to happen. When you see someone and talk to someone alot all the time, alot happen.

Ok, who installed the forum elevator? verymad.gif

Really though, I've seen people quit and/or get fired due to dating related issues at work. I think it depends on how big the office is and how often the co-workers see each other if the relationship goes awry.

Lol, but honestly in a university where its all students working where you work pretty much, I think thats lame. I mean really. And no I've never really had that rule imposed on me officially but it wasn't really good for people to.

But you made this topic about how you're attracted to your coworker. How do you think Jane will feel when she sees this? :(

My job doesn't seem to care.

That's weird, about your job. I think that I would just say, 'f**k it' and hang out outside of the workplace.

You can date people who are at your level, but if you want to have a relationship with a manager presiding over your area, you have to transfer to a different area or transfer to a different store sometimes.

It's weird.

It's easier just to not date anyone at work. Lots less drama.

Well in your situation, it is pretty understandable.

I guess Tung, all I can say is that you might have to chalk this one up as a loss and move on. There are always other women out there ya know. Whatever happened to your pool shorty?
