Anna, Mzkandi:

"Very well ladies, suggestion taken:

I agree that there is no point to this thread. I actually think these surveys take away from members getting to know members on a more personal level. If you're truly curious about a person, try to strike up a conversation instead of reading these surveys as they do not reveal much of the person you're trying to get to know."

Now I ask, does this mean all like surveys are spam?

I suppose it depends what the survey is on. For example, surveys for homework etc. are useful to someone, they serve a purpose. But the lengthy surveys in the lounge? I personally don't see any reason for those. After all, all people do is scroll through those. I know that's what I personally do.

Right. I asked if all like surveys should be considered as spam, referring to the ones that are 10+ questions about my favorite shampoos and etc. I also scroll through member answers to the surveys as well *shrug*. I'm not that curious about anyone's favorite soda rolleyes.gif but you never know who else would be interested in obtaining that kind of information. Well, I guess that's settled. Should this be added to the community guideline?

Hi Kiera.

I believe I suggested it before in a survey thread, but I suppose it's really up to the community. mellow.gif

I'll confer with other moderators and we'll see. Great suggestion by the way. I was debating with myself about that thread....

blahh..what has annoyed me to the fullest extent is when people get off topic and start having conversations with eachother on things completely irrelevant. its called PM...use it. I think that the mods should start closing the topics when this happens.

ie: cb crushes is a perfect example. It took a mod 19 pages to close it...when it was off topic after page 7 or so. the sad thing is, a couple of mods were the ones going off topic... huh.gif ermm.gif

community bonding wink.gif

we all have our separate opinions on things, and frankly i think i did the right thing leaving that one open (and not just because i was one of the main five involved). PMing doesnt work. boxes get filled way too easily, and personally i dont want to have to for every single thing.

also, i dont have AIM, so then i cant IM or go on chat. they got on chat after a while said it was just confusing, which is why i dont actually like chats anyway. as long as it doesnt become a common occurance, i dont think its a problem, because i know that at the very least, that was the most fun william and i have ever had on cb before

^ yes, that was.

what i was wondering is, is it okay to make threads like that in forum games (where it doesn't boost your post count)? or do you think it would be a good idea to have a chat thread where your posts don't effect your post count? i would enjoy that personally, because i usually use AIM just to talk to my friends i know in person.

If you read in the cB is hiring thread, I stated that it's a temp mod. I suppose I can tell you that he's helping with cB2, but I don't know how though. That's it.

Someone sounds jealous that they weren't involved in that amazing thread.

As Nicki said, some people don't have AIM and using the thread to just chat shoudn't be a bad thing.

Again, as the lovely William said (by the way, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!), we should be able to make a thread that doesn't affect our post counts...I don't really think the game forum would be good....Maybe just like a cB chat on cB haha...Who knows.

^x2 i've been here... i haven't seen you much either though sad.gif.

and yes, i think a chat thread/forum that doesn't effect our post counts would be great, due to all the different IM applications and inconviences and such. the only negative aspect of that i can see is that would be more space on the server and we do already have an AIM chat...

my two cents, as i *proudly* was the top poster in that thread:

firstly, you mean e.g., not i.e.

secondly, it was off topic after about page 1, lets not kid ourselves

thirdly, it was all in fun. people complain about the drama on createblog, then when a group of people are enjoying themselves, bonding, and getting to know each other better, we are told off? cutting off the nose despite the face, methinks

LONG LIVE THE FAB FIVE!!!!!!

DOWN WITH THE OPPRESSORS!

ASSORTED OTHER RIDICULOUS COMMENTS!!!

woot!!!

Perhaps the community should be informed of when old mods step down and new ones (even if they are temporary) are appointed. It'd be a lot less confusing since I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering and such, although I've figured out most of them at the moment.

Like this, perhaps?

Staff news:
aznkid1008, daehong, hubert, klumzy - temp design staff helping with cB2
datru katalyst, desperatexmeasures, Kathleen, waccoon - stepped down
touch my monkey - moved from design staff to people staff

[i'm sorry for editing your post, Anna, I just wanted it to look more official because it's the right information - fae]
