So I was just wondering who your favorite local bands are, and if they have a MySpace or something I (and others) could check out. And please, don't put crap in here. _smile.gif

like from my state?
i guess Code:Adrenaline
i don't know of other local bands in NY, but i know local bands from MA, PA, OH, IL, CA, AR, NC, KS, MN, NH ect. you can go browse PureVolume for bands that no one's ever heard of before. but the problem is that they have like 500,000 bands, so it'll take a long time to browse through all of them.

edit:;

does Bayside count as a local band?

and i almost forgot one: All Grown Up

Well, I have. The point is that I don't want to sift through millions of profiles when you guys know good local bands already. I thought this was a simple concept.

I live in NY, and some of my friends are in the band Kissena and the band Naked Riot. That's as local as you get, really.

THINK - I grew up with 2 of the guys in the band, and dated 2 of them, lol but they are really good. Won battle of the bands twice, just amazing really. Awesome live.
myspace/thinkmusic.

Polyester - heard they were amazing, went to see them one night when my friends band was playing, and they were great. their myspace doesn't even show how amazing they are. Especially live, you want to marry the lead singer.

Below normal is pretty good. They are better live though.
I go to church with 3 of them hahaha and Im good friends with 2.

Also, one of my best friends is in a band called The black out period. but idk if they have anything online yet.

Into the beautiful is good.. live. The quality of the stuff they have on myspace is really low.

Farewell is good.

Classic Case is mmmazing.

Hmmm...
As far as Valparaiso goes, I really don't care for much.
However, I really do enjoy Child Robot Malfunction.

Oh, and if we're dealing into a Chicago area, I'll dance to some Evil Empire.

what kind of music? like, metal or rock or what?

The Honour Recital are a rock band that used to be local-ish. they moved to hollywood last summer.
trigger point are from LA, and they're kind of metal.
post break tragedy are New Jersey born and bred emo rock.
genocya are death metal from michigan.

so... they're not all local, but they've all played locally, and so i've met them all. i've got loads more too probably...
