Why do you think what you have is a "wrong thinking". You can interpret sayings to your liking so long as it's not irrelevant or too far-fetched. Why don't you post what you thought of so far, and I can help you develope your 5 paragraphs?

The quotation is basically saying that nothing is worth your fear, but because you fear things, you destroy yourself. For example, you have a fear of water and this fear has hindered you from learning to swim. Water is not holding you back from learning to swim, YOUR FEAR is keeping you from swimming.

So, you should be fearing "fear itself".

i cant really say but here is what i think...

"you have nothing to fear, but fear itself."

i think this means that if you're confident then you'll always achieve things....but if you're scared of being scared; of things that will make you scared (like taking risks), you'll never get anywhere...you can't fear taking risks....fear being confident and standing up to people/things... and the only thing you have to fear is FEARING those things.

sorry if i was sort of confusing _unsure.gif

My thinking was.. it means You should face your fear and to just get it over with..because if you dont face it it will leads you to nothing/

write about the origin of the quote.. WHY roosevelt said it.. HOW it can be applied to today's society with all this terrorism and counter terrorism...

and isn't 5 paragraph just, intro, 3 body, and 1 conclusion?

I totally agree with how you said that. You have nothing to fear, but fear itself, because your fear is keeping you from trying what your fear is towards.

I hope that made sense..
