My boyfriend is only 2 1/2 years older than me and it took my parents a LONG TIME to qet to trust him. But, the hiqhest I'd probably qo is 3-4 years, while I'm a teenaqer.

well i don't know since all my boyfriends have been the same age, but a few years difference isn't too bad...my parents are 5 years apart, and my mom is the older one.

No offense to you, but that is way too old for someone so young. You're younger then my little sister, who just turned fourteen yesterday, and if she ever dated someone that was eighteen, I'd personally kick his ass. He should honestly look for someone his age or older. At your age, it doesn't seem right for someone who can legally do so much more than you can. Hell, he's probably almost graduting highschool, and you're just graduating 8th grade. That really makes you wonder what his reasons are. I have never known someone that age who wanted to date someone your age.

And there is a MAJOR maturity/experience difference between 13 and 18 year olds.
I dated someone younger than me when I was 13.

It's different as you get older (usually past the age of 17) because guys really are fickle about the consent laws. I've gotten my fair share of "you're just too young," or "too much age difference," when I was around 16.

However, currently, my boyfriend is 22; four years older then me.

Well, for adults, my parents are 12 years apart and my cousin is dating a guy like... 19 years older than her I think. But we love him and he doesn't use her for anything. They were co-workers first and he's awesome.

For preteens and teens I don't think you should go any farther up than 5 or 6 years older. When I was 12 I dated an 18 year old. He wasn't my boyfriend, but we dated. And I've hooked up with a 21 year old and I'm 13 but that was just WRONG. Blah.. Don't ask. So yeah....

I'm 17. I went on a "date" with a 23 year old last friday. I don't really thin about the age difference, y'know? It doesn't seem like a big deal when you're with the person. Now the whole having to be 18 thing really sucks _dry.gif

15 and younger should not date older then 1-2 years.

No offense, but that most've been one pathetic guy to hook up with someone who is seven years his senior. My friend was twenty when he hooked up with a fourteen year old, however, it wasn't for a relationship, as it was perely sexual related. Never knew someone at that age (20+) who actually wanted to be with someone that was much younger and less mature then they were. It just doesn't seem right for some reason. Same with when you dated an 18 year old; that's just f**king weird. You weren't even a teenager, and probably in seventh grade.

I say just stick with guys your age for now, so you can just get the jist of it all, and as you're older (16+) date older guys.

haha, my boyfriend and I do the same thing.
We're currently four years apart, so when I was graduating 8th grade, he was graduating highschool. Granted, we never knew eachother until last year, but he always teases me about it and whatnot.
