ok ima be blunt here, lol.

my girl wants me to go to my school dance with her, im not exactly excited about it. i live in boston and go to pretty much a black school (im white and not being racist). i dont excatly know, or like, the way that they will be dancing (the kind where it looks like they are almost humping each other, lol) i think that they will be playing mostly hip-hop and maybe a little regge.

does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to dance? and what should i wear to something like that?

don`t try acting too wigger (lol) cuz girls really dont like wiggers all too much (wel i don`t.) maybe wear a lil ecko` or south pole, baggier pants maybe? [again] dont overdo it. if you need dance help, don`t really dance. just kinda stand with your girl and if she wants you to dance just kinda move a bit. i don`t know. thats the best i could offer you, sorry.

Clothes you can move around in and fabric that 'breathes' so you don't get sweaty too fast or something. And for dancing don't be too floppy or too stiff unless they tell ya to do something that requires them. Try not to be out of time either cool.gif

Haha. Yup. Dance like crazy if they let you get dirty. Maybe sag your pants a little so when you dance, you only have to move a little bit. Or, just dance like you're at the club, that's what I usually do.

um..watch the movie hitch. Dont make an ass of yourself please. Just act natural and have fun. You dont have do dance like you are having sex on the dancefloor to have a good time. I hate when people dance like that with me. ITs gross. ugh. Just be yourself and dont take yourself too seriously. Trying to hard will always get you in trouble.

just move to the beat of the music. you know how 50 cent is all like " i do the same 2 step with a little twist." that's all dancing really is. you take two steps and you move your body to the beat of a music. i don't think your girl will care if you look like a dork as long as you dance with her.

oh... have you told your g/f that you don't dance a lot. tell her and i think she'll be willing to help you out, especially if she really wants you to dance.

if you try to come off as dancing "black" and your a white girl people will notice and laugh. Just listen to the music. Pay close attention to the beat and let your body flow. thats as simple as i can explain it. Do not try to hard. No need to impress anybody and if your not comfortable dancing then dont, dont let anyone pressure you to do anything you dont want to do

Ok, first you rock side to side with the beat. Then you begin to pulsate through your torso. Raise your right arm and begin to poplock. After gliding in a circular motion (like Usher or, better yet, Turbo) begin to uprock. Switch it up a bit and top rock to gain some momentum. Once you're feeling pretty good, drop to the ground and bust out a six step. After two rotations, begin to swipe with one leg, then two, then alternate your right and left legs. End this showmanship of 'freshness' with an L-Kick pose. Stand up, and stare your girl down.

I stole some moves from music videos. shifty.gif
- The move that Usher did in "Yeah!".
- 1,2 step by Ciara.

Erm, can't think of any right now.

Those videos are a medium to spread those dances. I think its cool and I love every minute of it. Back when the Harlem Shake (dreadful, dreadful dance) was brought to the public's attention by Eve's 'Whos that Girl' and P. Diddy's 'Special Delivery' videos, I identified and learned the dances right away. With each new video, new dances are introduced and, quitefrankly, its all good.

However, unless you've been beaten into the LA-based street gang, don't Crip Walk.

No, I just feel like we're using CreateBlog as an instant message medium.

As for dancing gangster-ish? The only 'gangster' dance I can think of is the Crip Walk. Like I said, unless you are one, don't do it.

Where Im from we do the heel~toe. Its like the big down here in the South. I learned how to do it from going to the club and observing others. I do all the gangsta dances including the crip walk unless Im clubbin then I do absolutely nothing gangsta because if you dont roll deep you get jumped. As far as the hip-hop music go up to the DJ and say I want techno.
