Design Staff

One would think that being on staff would be because an individual knows how to follow the rules and is exceptionally good at what they do (be it people skills or designing abilities). Mike seemed to be good at what he does, but it would seem that this particular Design Staff does not know how to follow the rules. This particular individual on several occasions jocked layouts/graphics/designs etc from ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL WHO IS NOT MIKE!!!!!

I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS!

So ask yourselves, members of CreateBlog, does this jockster deserve to remain on staff, after breaking such an enormous rule?

Oh yeah, I was reading about that in the feedback forum last time. It's a little shocking, to me at least. So he couldn't have just asked the person first before doing said act?

IMO if you disagree then you should post reasons why.

its funny cuz i was looking at his stuff the other and was impressed, and really liked a lot of his work, then i saw the one thread and i was like forget it.

Since Steve is asking for reasons and I have no problem saying what my opinion is, I went null for this. I would have voted eventually, but I wanted to see the results.

Personally, I would like to see what Mike has to say. Please know that that DOES NOT mean anything is excusable in this matter.

Agreed. Good, bad, right, wrong, whatever, we're not claiming to be "letting him off the hook" - just interested in hearing what he has to say.

I do agree with Rebs on this (even though I voted), I really want to hear what Mike has to say.

I don't think so. He is east coast, which means he's been in school.
I don't think he is trying to hide, because he hasn't been on since last night BEFORE the topic was posted in feedback. Soooo, he doesn't know this is going on yet.

Interesting... that is a very cute image, though!

Well, I'm sure almost EVERY designer here has used a borrowed image before. No one here takes their own professional photo shoots of celebrities and bands, so (I say so reluctantly) Mike probably didn't know he was doing any harm when he used that picture. *shrug* She / he probably wouldn't even mind if Mike had linked or credited the artist. If Createblog wants to be truly "professional" and work as true artists, then all layouts / graphics with copyrighted images would have to be deleted... and where would that leave us?

Hey everybody.

I'm going to attempt to explain this so everybody can understand. I have a website that's dedicated to requests. When I get the e-mail I ask the client whether they have any specific images they want to be used. The layout(s) in question were ALL requests. I am at fault for not checking to see where the images came from, because honestly I have a couple hundred e-mails everyday. So once I get the image I edit them to how they want the layout and I code it for them. Once I'm done I upload it onto createblog so I can save the codes for them. I seriously regret what has happened and I feel horrible about it. I hope The designer isn't terribly upset about this and If they want to talk I will gladly talk with them. This was IN NO WAY AN INTENTIONAL GESTURE.

I hope everyone is willing to forgive me and I take my punishment graciously and I look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks.
