i've submitted over 10 layouts to createblog and only one layout was approved to be used here. and now the one layout that i made, was removed. i'm wondering if other people could check out my layouts and please provide me with constructive critism. please don't hold back...i need to know what it is that i'm doing wrong so that i can one day have so many layouts on this website that i'll need to create my own one happy.gif ahhh...only a dream...my skem9 layouts

Recently we've raised up our standards and has a house cleaning which was mentioned here: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...p;f=64&id=2 if you look in feedback. Your layout was probably removed because it didn't meet the mod's (who rejected it) standards.

I like some of your layout *concepts*. I like the purple and white layout and I'm guessing that might have been the one that got accepted at first. Your layouts could use a little retouching (like the *bevel/emboss* isn't very attractive) and more of a flow.

I'll be honest though, anyone's style who is different on here AKA who doesn't blend images of some girl with a forlorn expression with colorization and some grunge brushes here and there... usually will not be accepted.

Most of the stuff on this website is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but 90% of it looks EXACTLY THE SAME. Same techniques. Same themes. It's a little annoying sometimes. stubborn.gif

And other times I look at it and I'm like ?why was this accepted? but apparently the more "active" you are on here, the more likely your work will be accepted.

Embrace your individuality and don't feel discouraged if this website doesn't accept you, as long as your stuff makes you happy.

I agree with Anastacia [mynocturnal] and FoxLucky.

I do like your Purple and White layout, though.

thanks i appreciate that. unfortunately it was my rose layout that got accepted. my purple one never got accepted. the funny thing is that i submitted that rose one last year. but after that one, i never got accepted. i dunno how much active do i need to be noticed but i'll keep trying. i mean, what's the typical style that these guys are looking for? what trend is out there that i need to catch up with?

^ Look through our accepted layouts to see what kind of styles/quality get accepted. _smile.gif
Also, being active in the forums really doesnt affect the submission process.

Haha I didn't mean active as in posts, but more like who you are. Not to start an argument but I've seen some stuff that if it would have been any other person it would not have been accepted. whistling.gif

Don't cave to "the styles". How do you think trends get started anywayz? By someone being original. I think your stuff had a lot of spunk. Just try not using so much emboss/bevel and a little more structured themes and you'll be ok. biggrin.gif

You're welcome. A lot of people struggle with structure. Don't feel so bad.

That doesn't affect the submission process either.
