The Moderator Performance thread isn't exactly the place for dicussion of the CBC, yes? Please continue all discussion as such here.

I don't see a point in having this topic now. The owner of the chat already took off everyone on op, and isn't banning anyone or anything. I don't see a problem unless some other bot comes in.. ermm.gif

There is no need for another topic about CBC. There is already one in the lounge. I'm sure this can be closed.

This topic is based more along the lines of the moderation of the CBC and it's relationship with CB. The other is more based on the goings-on in the CBC.

But if another mod feels this is unnecessary, then close if you will.

^ Well really it was because the AIM chat was already established, and not many people moved from one to the other, and also because there was some difficulty in that people didnt have an IRC client, or what have you, so it never really took off... which was a shame... I miss playing trivia

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the topic in the lounge can be used to talk about the moderation. I'm sure that the topic in the lounge talks about moderation, as well as other things related to CBC. I think that there should just be one topic, and I don't get why this is in feedback. How does it really relate to cB? How does it give suggestions? If you guys are going to keep this topic, at least move it into some place where it's appropriately suppose to be.

Not really about the moderation of the chat, but I'm going to say it anyways: I think that AOL should let it's users into AIM chat rooms. After all, they are run by the same dang company. I don't go into the chat because I don't have AIM and it takes too long to download on my computer. That's why I don't know a lot of people here.

I might be wrong but i belive this realates to cB as its becoming a growing issue with certain members. The "oping" of people has caused unessesary drama as people where being banned or "kicked" out of chats for no reason or jsut for the hell of it I think this needs to be brought to light because it is a really popular feature on CreateBlog.

So there needs to be some ideas shared with the community on how we can get rid of the drama and certain other issues that occur in chat. as for the topic in the lounge i noticed it more of a less became a rant about how cB chat sucks now...or cB chat was good in the old days..[no one cares]So i think this fits nicely in here. but i might be wrong..lol laugh.gif

We all have delt with this before. All we can really do about all these stupid bots is just for get about them and go to a new chat that we make. No big problem there.

I still think that it would be better to just have ONE topic on CBC. I still think this should be closed, and the one in the lounge should be kept. I don't see why you need to have 2 topics on 1 thing. Waste of space. ermm.gif How is this feedback anyways? It doesn't even really talk about CB as a forum. It just talks about the chat. mellow.gif

I think the one in the lounge is mainly about CBC, and I think it should be kept. I don't get how it fits in the feedback forum..... mellow.gif If anyone would like to give me information on HOW it fits in the feedback forum, please post here. _smile.gif

Pretty much, Josh(Elated iPod) came in and "planted" his take-over bot(ipudz0r) when nobody else was in the chat. Obviously, Josh couldn't overlook and control the chatroom all the time, so he gave 3 CBC guys (Rik, Jerome, and KC) the "powers" to moderate the room. They were allowed to kick, ban, and op(hand over powers) people who came into the CBC room. Obviously, they abused their powers, because, who wouldn't? Eventually, Josh had about 11 ops, and took off all of them except for Arjuna, Dani, and KC. Why? Probably because most(if not all) CB members respect these three.

Anyways, point is, the chat should be fine with the whole moderation thing from now on, except for the bot randomly kicking/banning people out for no reason...(don't ask)

I hope that sums things up with the whole "cbc owner" thing.

So, what does happen in the CBC, most of the time? Perverted talk or member bashing that I personally don't even want to mention or go on about. zipped.gif

Okay, this is what confuses me. Why do we NEED someone to overlook and control the chatroom all the time? The chat has always held itself up and we've had no problems with this.

We don't. My theory is that all he wanted to do was control the chat. mellow.gif
Hey, I'm not saying Josh is a bad guy and that he abuses his "chat ruling powers," though.

I say, ignore the whole bot thing because it really doesn't make a difference in the chat, that's what we've been doing for the past few days in CBC.

CBC is a drama starting cesspool in which i have a addiction to looking at.its like a soap opera in the making.
i honestly dont think that the chat needs anytype of moderation but if you have to have a moderator that it should be up to only one person and that should only be josh [elated ipod] himself.
and even if he cant be in the chat all the time i dont see what was the issue beforehand when he wasnt in the chat. most people didnt even know that he was the owner of the chat untill recently so why all the sudden changes?

Wait, so who is Josh, and why should he be in charge of CBC over anybody else?

And why do we need a CBC mod in the first place? This whole thing is just weird, to be honest.

Josh is elated ipod on AIM.

and thats the whole point of this disscussion as to why there is a sudden need for the chat to be moderated.

If I'm not mistaken, Josh is doing this because he's bored, and he can.

He gave a direct answer somewhere in a past thread where it was brought up, I just can't quite remember where.

The whole thing has definitely brought some novel things to the chatroom, but it hasn't been anything too bad. If you asked me, it sometimes makes the room a bit more interesting.

well, yes, i get that, but who IS he in realtion to cb? a member?

There is no sudden need for the chat to be modded, as far as I can make out, it has just randomly happened.
