Okay I want a digital camera and I was wondering if ya'll could give me some suggestions. Here are my specifications.

-5.0 MP or higher
-I only have 300 some dollars so... cheap
-Thin, so I can carry it around easily

Actually if it's rediculous to think that I can get a thin cheap digital camera for under 300 dollars..... I'll probably take any MP. Just like, not terribly crappy.

Danke schon :)

My Sony is pretty good.

It's about 300 dollars, not including tax. I think best buy has it on sale now?

http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP....as_megapixels_5

There's also some more with more megapixels from sony or cheaper. I'd recomend a canon, too.

That's a cool camera... but maybe a little less expensive? The 300 dollars is all the money I have...

Yeah, I know, but as I mentioned, best buy has it on sale for like, $280? There's some other ones that are slightly heavier, but they're still the same quality.

I think that one would suit you more, no?

You can always check on eBay.

This is the one I have:
Casio Exilim EX-Z55

I'ts really thin, about an inch to an inch and a half thick. I bought it off of eBay and it was a little less than 300 (like $295). I love it. If you want to see some pictures I've taken with it, go here.

no no no get the new ckodak. the one in the commercials with the old guy and the chick who says "action" and he says "u mean cheese. u say cheese when u take a picutre" and she says "I'm shooting video" and it funny cuz he tells her to cut and she tell him she the director. Anyway...back to the point, aside from good advertising, its a great camera. My friend bought it when it was brand new for 350, but it finally dropped down to 270+ at walmart. Anyway, great camera, small, fits in your pocket, takes amazing pictures, and comes in different colors!

that camera is alright. kodaks only look pretty but i dont think they are the greatest cameras.

if you want good quality slim cameras i would go to exilim.
but the best are like sonys and canon - canons are pretty good and most of them are cheap too.

Panasonic Lumix DMCLS2S-B

Not a bad camera, it has it where it counts, excellent photo quality, of course doesn't beat Canon or Nikon, but for that price, it's a good bargain.

Keep in mind that quality does NOT come cheap. Most 5.0 MP cameras that are god quality and look nice aren't cheap, but you can get them with $300. You can even get the Canon ELPH with 5.0 MP for $299.99 now (or maybe less). It's pretty nice.

http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controlle...5&modelid=11939

Plus, you can clearly view the images on a 2.5" screen. Cheapers ones have 2" screens.

My philosophy is that if you're going to spend a lot of money on a camera, such as spending $250 on a decent one, shouldn't you go spend that extra $50 to get a REALLY REALLY GOOD one? You have to think about this, in the long run.Oh yea, and it would definitely help if you went to Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, CompUSA, or something like that and have a look at the cameras yourself. Then you'll know what I mean.

^ If it doesn't come with one or if it doesn't have internal storage or if it has internal storage and you want more space.

Highly suggested, I also suggest Lithium batteries. They last.

i have this camera, the Canon SD550. IT ROCKS. and its soooo pretty!!! i bought it for $500, but now Amazon is selling it for about half the price...

The first Digital Elph with an amazing 7.1 MP CCD, which captures enough detail for photo-quality 15 x 20-inch prints
3x optical zoom; 2.0-inch LCD display
Enhanced movie mode with fast 60-frame-per-second capture rate
DIGIC II Image Processor provides fast, accurate image processing
Powered by rechargeable Lithium-ion battery; stores images on SD memory card.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TJ5A...ng=UTF8&s=photo

i suggest this memory card:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001A06G...ng=UTF8&s=photo

so in total, the price would about $300+shipping, which is like $10.

I don't know if you live near a BJ's Wholesale Club, or are even a member, but we have both of those (I believe we still have the ELPH), for cheaper than Amazon, and there's no sipping.

But yes, excellent suggestions.

I love Fuji cameras, so heres a few. (= I took a quiz to help you select a camera, and it came down to these three.. although the first one doesn't have 5MP. =x

and if you don't like any one of those, this is one of my favorites. FinePix 450. My cousin had it; nice and compact. It might cost around $350 though.. but maybe you can find one that costs less. _smile.gif

You guys are all paying retail price. 300 Dollars? Any MP?

How about this Vivitar 8300s 8.1 Megapixel for 229 Dollars? 170 if you can get the rebate.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=VI...krebatesproduct

If you're really short on cash, theres another 8 megapixel one for like 170 I think.

I got it at Target, it was on clearance, it was the display model, so that's 30% off, and I work at Target so I get a 10% discount.

lol, I'm so cheap....

$500*0.7=350
$350*0.9=315

but that would still be like $315. that camera normally costs $500.

Haha nice.

If the 8MP ones are only about like, 170 dollars or something. Imagine how much the 7, 6, and 5MP ones are gonna cost?

I said it was on clearance, when Target has clearances. THEY HAVE CLEARANCES! The price from the original get's dropped dramatically. Then after the clearance, I had 30% off because it was the display model, and another 10% because I work there.

There's a Nikon Digital Coolpix S1 for $320.

It's 5.1 MP.

I'm pretty sure you can find a better deal on that camera though.
