Why being gay, lesbian or bisexual is such a huge deal...I mean, when someone is gay in a movie, for example, they always have to rate something above PG13...which is so f**king retarded...i mean, i'm straight, but today my friends and I had a discussion about gay marriage and that we should abolish it, which is wrong, i mean, i'm a democrat, and i dont know about them, but i think gay marriage should be legal in every state, and i dont care what our dumbass president thinks about that. And so, for all of you homophobic people that hates anyone even closely THOUGHT to be gay, lesbian or bisexual...f**k YOU. Anybody, no matter what their orientation is, should be treated like a goddam human being.

Not a big Bush fan, but guess what having the law stay the same would be the best idea right now. Instead of thinking about gay marriages and all that other stuff. Think about the economy, the way, or foreign relations. Stop being ignorant and trying to share your feelings with everyone when there are so many other places you could of put your opinion.

I agree with you, although you shouldn't use foul language to get your feelings across. I believe each person is entitled to their own sexuality and interests, and should not be discrimination. But, unfortunately, there is a lot of discrimination in the world and I don't think people will ever learn to accept each other and think outside themselves. I have nothing against gay people, the constitution says everyone has a right to their pursuit of happiness, and I think gay marriage is a pursuit of that happiness. I am pissed off about something else right now though, read something where people were just being sexually cruel to guys, forcing them to strip naked, completely humiliating them, and discriminating against their bodies and sizes.

If the laws do not limit pursuit of happiness, however, we'd have a big problem on our hands, something akin to anarchy. For example, what if my happiness constitutes rape? I'd go and rape every guy out there and it would be okay? No, so limits are there for a reason. However, that does not mean I condone any physical, mental harm against homosexuals for being homosexuals. Such acts are horrid and cowardly.

I don't have a problem with people who are gay, bi, or are lesbians. I am straight and I honestly don't have a problem with gay marriages either.....but there are many that do because they don't want to accept the idea of gay people performing sacred rites of marriage that were meant only for one man and one woman in the beginning. Give it time....maybe in a few decades more people will begin to accept the idea and it won't be such a umm.....big deal?

That's a defeatist attitude. There is room for change. Look at the women's rights movement, or the civil rights movement--we have come a long, long way in just 100 or even 50 years. The same can be said of homosexuals.

Amen. I completly agree with you. Being gay is a tough thing, having to "Come out" to loved ones hoping that they'll love you regardless and plus added to that, with our country not allowing gay marriage, they must feel as if being the person that they are is just wrong and illegal.

There are many, many people who are just so close-minded that they will not accept something that is not what they're used to or what they've been told is "right". And people love debate. I understand what you're saying, but you don't have to use foul language and anger to get your point across. Ranting about what you believe in is a sure sign of ignorance. Everyone has a right to be angry, but if you come on to a forum like this one and rant like that you are in danger of hurting someone elses beliefs. Just remember how your friends made you feel, you might be making someone else feel the same way. I am a conservative catholic and although in my religion the purpose of marriage is procreation, I think that there is something more intimate about a union such as marriage that goes beyond procreation. Therfore I think that homosexuals have the right to have a union just as a man and a woman do. But, I can understand why someone might disagree with me and I'm not going to go off ranting about how they're blind and what not. Next time your friends make you angry with something like that, handle the situation with grace.
