It seems to me that many of you don't know
a)what the search button is
or
b)how the hell to use it correctly.

Step One: Get to the search screen.
Before you make a topic, you should always use the search button. It is located on the top right of your screen in between live chat and members. Here, I'll make it even easier: SEARCH BUTTON PAGE

Step Two: Find what you are looking for.
Type in your key phrase/words in the box named "Enter a keyword or phrase".
Then, this is probably the step most of you miss
, go down to where is says "Search posts from... and chose ANY DATE. This will show any topic that has to do with what you searched for.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORATANT STEP DAMNIT

Step Three: Post your topic/post in the topic.
If you did not find a topic that matched what you were going to post, then please post it up!

Buuuut if you did, just bring back the old topic and please make it worth while. If the topic had something to do about colours and you were just going to insert a one word response, don't bother.

See, now that wasn't hard was it?! Please embrace the search button

yeah..but only because people dont read every thing on the search page skip over the "any date" selection and end up searching only for the last 30 days

No matter how many times people say to use the search button, there's always that one person who doesn't.

But even if it IS pinned, many newbies just skip over the rules and the pinned sections. U_U;; or at least, from what I know...

Kudos for a very much needed topic. While some members will still overlook this topic and post a duplicate topic with out searching anyways, at least now we have a place to send them to and educated them about the importance of searching.

If I was a newbie, I would probably think "use the search button" is just an expression to confuse newbies.

I never thought the searching page would actually need a tutorial... but now I think no one can ever have an excuse to post duplicate topics anymore.

Thank you for making this topic. _smile.gif
