[font=Arial]A shower. Something so simple. It seems like just an everyday thing. It's not to me though. It's my haven, my refuge.  Where I go to get away from the rest of the world. From the world that causes pain, suffering, stress, pressure. From the world that seems to hate me so much. People must think I'm so clean. Since I take showers so often. But why do I take them? It's because I'm dirty. Because I'm rotten, filthy, dirty. I try to clean myself. To rinse away the pain. But rarely do I leave with all of me feeling flawless. I spend most of the time washing my face with my tears. I get the shampoo in my eye and it only makes things worse. I cut myself while shaving and see this liquid leak out. It's blood. My blood. I need to be cleaned yet here I am making more of a mess. I shower to get away, to think. To finally get some free time to myself without intrusions from my cell phone or my pesky siblings. I like feeling the warm water trickle down my back.  It almost massages all the knots in my shoulders. Helping relieve me of stress and the everyday pressures of life. I close my eyes and let the water run on my face and mix with the tears. Sometimes I just sit there and let it rain down on me. No one knows these secrets. No one knows my reasoning. My parents just think I'm wasting water each time I shower. Little do they know that as I shower a part of me goes down the drain. That part of my soul feels cleansed and rejuvenated. I like staying in the shower for long amounts of time. The longer the better because I have so much to wash away, so much to think about. Then the water starts to turn cold and suddenly I'm pulled back into reality.  I remember that I can't escape these thigns for too long. So I turn the shower off, grab the towel, dry myself, and walk out; knowing that no one knows my secret. That no one would ever be able to tell that more than just my skin was being cleansed. font]
