what would you rather be carrying around?

a cd player with a cd that can only hold up to 80 minutes of music. you have to keep buying new batteries for, and the price range can go from 10-200 dollers. or an ipod which can store up to 1,000 songs 4GB for the minis 20 GB for the regular of music storage and has an 8 hour batterly life which the minis cost 240 dollers and come in five different colors or the regular which are white.

i wouldn't want an ipod.

anyways; MP3 CD players can hold 700 minutes of songs (MP3 at 128K) per CD.

noticed you put ipod and mp3 player separate, while they're the smae thing (if you're calling a DAP an mp3 player.)

CD players also have rechargable batteries avalible.

Well if it's that obvious of a question, why did you even make it a topic? A better topic would've compared iPods to other mp3 players, such as the Nomad Zen or the Archos Gmini. And since when did portable CD players cost 200 bux? The most expensive one I could find was a $130 Hummer-style mp3-CD one.

CD players are inexpensive.. and so are the medium... the price comes at the songs and albums. But most people have downloading software stubborn.gif. so the cost is little more than the player, a stockload of mediocre cd's, and lottsa time in categorizing and organizing cd's.
After all, with a cost of $0.25 per CD (being lenient here) that means you can get 100 cd's for the price of an ipod mini... which is 8000 hours of music... and MUCH more for mp3 cd's which can hold, as sadockle_acid mentioned, 700 minutes of music.

though i must agree the ipods are very modern looking (not necessarily nice =/) and you don't have to change songs biggrin.gif

If you can afford an Ipod why ask that question? Anyhoo, I think Ipods are more convenient. That's a nobrainer.

I'd rather have an iPod or another type of Mp3 player. Much easier to carry around and you can have a large variety of songs.. (I have a Rocbox)

I'd choose an iPod... but I don't know. I like the feeling of purchasing CD's and investing in music. I'm like that.

I would rather carry an iPod than any music players, because I can download every music from the internet or in my computer in one compartment without requiring any compact discs or caettes. _smile.gif

--->So for iPod users, everytime you charge, charge till it's full wink.gif

no...

Ipods are Lithium ions batterys... it doens't matter how you charge it.

it's the heat that kills it; because it allos oxygen to leak into the battery and oxidize it.

just be careful about letting it get too hot.

(P.S. Lith. ions work better if not drained completely.
