Just came back from the school musical yesterday. This year it was Grease. We had a Chinese guy play Danny and a brunette girl put on a cheap blonde wig and be Sandy. xD

It was suuuuuch a cheap production - but they danced well, the band was AWESOME, and the singing was great. In fact, I've had all the songs stuck in my head for the whole day.

So my question is, does your school produce annual school musicals? If so, what were some of the recent ones?

Yup! This year is Cinderella. tongue.gif Auditions were today, in fact, but I didn't sign up. I've been in the plays for the past two years playing minor parts (Guys and Dolls, The King and I) This year, I just wanted to be the audience and not do any of the work :D I'm lazy, so shoot me.

Yeah, my school does a bunch of musicals- along with SING!, which is great each year. Hmm, recently, my school put on A Raisin in the Sun, Once Upon a Mattress, and some more. And, playing now is Into the Woods, which I'm gonna see on Saturday for free.

Almost Every School does

Into the Woods
Bye Bye Birdie
Guys & Dolls
Once Upon a Mattress

i`ve done all those too and most of them i was a lead ......but i`ve notice there also overated and is mostly the easiest shows to be produced and directed .

Yup! I love it too! =]

Last year it was Guys and Dolls...I didn't go see it though. The production of Grease is going to be our school's last, because the teacher who does all of it is retiring and no one's replacing her.

How sad.

Oh yeahh! A Raisin in the Sun was originally a book written by Lorraine Hansberry. Just a random fact that I thought you should know tongue.gif

Bushel and a Peck gets stuck in my head so easily blink.gif I did that play two years ago, yet I still remember most the song lyrics.

Oh! I remembered another one that's pretty popular. The Music Man. Except, I don't remember much of it cause I was dying of sweating to death. There honestly was like no air in the auditorium where it was performed!

Oh yes. Our drama department is HUGE. Everyone, even the teachers, want to do Grease, but our Principal is really conservative and says it's "too racy". So that ended Grease. But in the past couple years they've done... Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls (Hello Dolly well Hello Dolly.. and I wasn't even in it), and this year is Oklahoma (going to see it on March 10th). I wasn't in any of them, but all my friends were/are.
