Kira Is Justice

Light Yagami is a character from the Death Note anime and manga series.

A dangerous combination of a god complex and godlike powers to go with it, Light Yagami is a young man who seeks to remake the world in his own image. His tool is a “death note,” a notebook left behind on Earth by the death god Ryuke, with which he can murder anyone by writing down their name and the circumstances under which he wishes to see them pass on.

Light believes that he can use the notebook to create a finer world, embarking on a campaign to weed society of criminals, malcontents, and others who (in his mind) are holding humanity back. At the same time, he expects that fear of his power will cow those already inclined towards good behavior.

In other words, he's quite, quite mad. However, his madness is hidden behind a mask of good looks, social grace, and remarkable cunning. Even when an international police investigation grows dangerously close to finding him out, he's able to creatively employ the powers of the “death note” to keep one step ahead of his adversaries. That means leaving a considerable body count in his wake, of course, but in his mind the ends more than justify the means.
