**NOTE**
I did this tutorial in Photoshop CS3 Extended which is why some of you may have problems. However, that does't mean this tutorial won't work in other versions of Photoshop. Just try it out.

Ever wondered how to make your picture look like if a professional painter did it? Well that wondering stops here. I will teach you how to do so with my tutorial. I will use a picture I took of beautiful Santa Barbara. If you want to add it to your Graphics Favorites, the picture can be found here. Okay well here's the before:

Here's the after:

Ready? Okay.

001.First thing, open your picture

002.Do a ctrl+j to duplicate your background layer.

003.Rename your new layer "Painting."

004.Then go Filter>Artistic>Water Color.

005.This step depends on your picture, so just play around with the settings. If you want to use my settings, go ahead:
Brush Detail: 14
Shadow Intensity: 0
Texture: 1

006.With the "Painting" layer selected, click on the "Create new fill or adjustment layer" button & select "Brightness/Contrast."

007.Again, this depends on your picture, so play around with the settings. If you want, you can use my settings:
Brightness: 32
Contrast: 10

008.Then with your "Painting" layer selected, click on the "Create new fill or adjustment layer" again & select Hue/Saturation."

009.Once again, this depends on your image. So play around with the settings. The settings I used are:
Hue: -8
Saturation: +26
Lightness: 0

010.With your "Painting" layer selected, change the opacity to 84%.

011.And now you have your final product. Hooray!! :)

If you got lost or have any questions, comment the tutorial & I'll get back to you as soon as I can. :D
