I'm so excited for this final Nolan film to come out, that I really hope they don't f*ck it up. Mostly with the casting.
Johnny Depp and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the Riddler are serious no's in my opinion. I don't think either of them could really pull it off. (Sure Depp has had his fair share of eccentric characters, but I said has had. Let's keep it that way.)
And Jgl, he's just really too young. And I don't think he'd quite fit. I also wouldn't be able to take him seriously as E. Nygma.
As for James Franco, I'd just be thinking Harry Osborn.....what?
And Leonardo Dicaprio? No.
I don't know. Thoughts?

I'm against the idea of there even being the Riddler. But I guess there aren't too many big-named villains to choose from now that the Joker is out of the picture.

Johnny Depp: NO. PLEASE NO. It's gotten a bit boring with him playing all the weird characters; I wish he'd play some more 'normal' ones for a bit. Ugh.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt: I was actually quite excited for this. I didn't think he'd make a very good Riddler at first, given how he's just soooo cuute. But he can do some pretty weird ass faces, and I think he's got the acting chops to pull it off. But now that his name's no longer on the IMDB page... I don't know.
James Franco: He's too pretty. Great actor, but I can't see him as the Riddler at all. Would definitely be interested in seeing him try though.
Leonardo DiCaprio: You said it. No.

I know! When I heard the Riddler was the main villain, I was like...

I was hoping they'd put the Mad Hatter in it, but then that would just be too much like Inception. I think they should bring back Scarecrow though.
It would seriously suck to replace the Joker, but I honestly think Jgl could pull it off.

Although it's not going to happen, I can definitely see Jgl as the Joker than see him as the Riddler. I'm not sure if he could pull it off acting-wise though.
I heard they were also considering David Tennant for the role.
Guy Pearce will always be my first choice.

badly 'shopped but who cares

I agree with bringing back the scarecrow, but as far as the joker I think it should be done. Ledger just played him to a T and I wouldn't be able to really enjoy anyone else playing him. Not anytime soon at least.
I could deal with Levitt playing him. I'd bet money that Depp will end up playing him though.
idk I think the riddler will be hard for anyone to pull off. I mean I can't really recall anyone who pulled off that role before.

I thought Jim Carrey did a decent job. It was a little too reminiscent of The Mask, but it was okay.
Damn, David Tennant would make a great Riddler, imo.

liking the idea of the third and final.
i think the directors would bring a great audience if they added in sub/minor villians into the arena. bad guys like harley quinn, poison ivy, doctor freeze ( i think ), scarecrow, the croc guy, etc etc. this would bring so much hype to the movie

I think Harley Quinn is kind of a nobody without a Joker, and Mr. Freeze and Killer Croc are kind of boring to me.
I'd be interested to see Nolan's take on Poison Ivy though! Maybe even some Bane (though I think he looks ridiculous)... I hated how they dumbed him down in Batman & Robin.

Agree. I kind of think Bane wouldn't fit at all.
I'm pretty sure there's definitely going to be more than just the Riddler as far as other villains go. I know that Mr. Freeze isn't going to be in it for sure.
I hope Nolan won't put the Penguin in it. He bores me too.

Dang, he'd look f*cking awesome as The Riddler. Don't really know if NPH would be able to pull it off though.

haha I agree. Supposedly Tom Hardy might be cast? I really hope he's not the Riddler. I can definitely see him as Croc though. (Although, putting Croc in the next film....

Tom Hardy HAS been cast as a "lead role", no confirmation if he's the villain yet though.

I love you Joanne, but

:p
I think Harley can be a stand alone - in fact, I could a dig her character going bat shit nutsier with Joker not around.
Not liking any idea of NPH as Riddler. I don't have a particularly good reason, I just don't buy it. I would have loved JGL as the Riddler. He's utterly adorable, but I can imagine him being creepy as well.

Bale's last Batman is this upcoming one... Good or Bad? What's your take?

I honestly don't really care too much about Christian Bale being Batman... I'm more concerned about the director. I'm sad that this will be Nolan's last Batman film.
