so i got this stereo, and it works fine up until now. Whenever i put in a cd, it doesn't read. It spins and everything but it says "no disc".

help.

Maybe the laser's broken/dirty? IDK it's happened to me before. Back when I was in middle school, I used to have this stereo in my room and the disc would spin, but it wouldn't read. I would just leave it on and 30 minutes later it would read the disc.

Wow, I don't even listen to "CDs" anymore. My ipod's more reliable for me. =X

Is it just a regular CD or one that you burned songs onto?

How long ago did you buy this? If the discs you are attempting to play are clean, there really shouldn't be a problem.
moorepocket
i bought it last year. And the discs i inserted are barely scratched. :(

Was it some cheapo stereo, or was it a decent one?

IT'S FROM SHARPER IMAGE!!!!!!!! SO IT'S NOT CHEAP. IT'S FROM A DEPENDABLE BRAND NAME!!!
heyo-captain-jack
I wouldn't call Sharper Image a dependable brand name.
moorepocket
well, i would. Plus, it's decent.

Well, you're only guaranteed up to a year with any electronic device. They're made to go to shit at some point in time. I guess it's about the time you got a new one.
moorepocket
^so that's it? no repair or anything?
heyo-captain-jack
Probably not. How much did you originally buy it for?
moorepocket
Like $80
