hi, i would like to create a header and layout which is similar to this.

how do i get it started? my LJ is here.
im totally new to LJ and dont understand any codes at all. please help!

I also have a similar problem! Being new to LJ makes it difficult to know how anything works on there "/ All I want is a nice simple header layout!
