Well, first of all, you'll have to learn the CSS codes to know what to alter to get the look that you want. There are a lot of tutorials and websites out there for such things; however, this is just the first step to a standard layout. With a few customizations and a photo-editing program such as PaintShop Pro, creating a DIV overlay is pretty simple if you're familiar with DIV classes, CSS, and a little bit of HTML wouldn't hurt, either.

^ As Whitney has stated.

If you need help with PSP, you can google Paint Shop Pro tutorials. And then for all your myspace essential needs.... go here.

DEFAULT: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=144829

Those two topics, are helpful guidelines to help you get started.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask and post in the myspace help support sub-forum(myspace related, like codes). We'll gladly help you, but first check those two links above to choose what you want to start first.

I suggest you to start the default, that way you are use to the CSS codes (like Whitney has stated) and simple designing on PSP.
Then, if you want to further advance your layouts, make a div overlay.

do a bit of research before you start making layouts, look at which styles are popular (but never copy!) and try to get a feel for your own "layout style"
make a folder on your computer for stock photos/photographs of your own/images you might want to use, but always credit and make sure you get permission first thumbsup.gif

if you're just starting, I would recommend using this:

After you've got the basics, you should take a code and tear it apart to find out what does what. That's how I learned.
