I don't like ketchup very much. It's made from tomatoes. which is a vegetable. It's not a vegetable. =)

You can't have it as a debate because it doesn't qualify as one. Simple. Also, the comparison is valid.

ketchup (catsup) is a condiment.

Sep 24 2007, 12:55 PM
i wouldn't say ketchup is a fruit or vegetable... it may be made from one but after they add all the other ingredients and such i think it loses a lot of its nutritional value so in the end its just a condiment.

Ketchup is so full of sugar and other unhealthy things that it should really go into the forbidden "Other" section. You know. Junk and the like.

a tomato is a fruit, and most of the things that make up ketchup is tomato, so no. it is a "fruit" in a sense.

No. It has a little thing called high fructose corn syrup. The same stuff that's found in candy and soft drinks. It's not a natural sugar like fructose (the stuff in fruits)... Ketchup doesn't have any nutritional value... you'd be better off consuming other tomato products.

Did you know that there's maggots in Ketchup? Yeah, there's like 100 avg. per bottle.
Just thought it'd be a nice little twist to this topic.
