If the codes in scripts (there is two) doesn't work I don't know if you can. People have asked but no real answer yet.

but i see on other profiles that there is no extra box when they create friends lists. is it becuz of the layout... or in the code of my friends list?

I was told some hide using this script:

But for most it just won't hide, I know that code works for regular default layouts you can try yours.
