Security Device

I’ve been hurt too many times
to give it up to you
I’ve learned that showing weakness
is a stupid thing to do
Maybe I’m just bitter, babe
I’m digging my own grave
But ending up alone can’t be
much worse than being played

My friends tell me you’re different
than all those other guys
Do they really mean the best
or is it all a lie?

Chorus:
Nothing good could ever come
of letting down these walls
You say you want to love me
but I know you’ll let me fall
My girls say that you’re genuine,
you’re cute and very nice
But my heart stays safe
with a security device

Bet by now you’re wondering
what made me like this
If you really wanna know,
I’ll read you the list
I’ve been used to run the bases
Been used to help guys cheat
Been caught up in tangled webs
of pain and of deceit

My friends say that you’re special
that you could be The One
If that’s the case, we’ll never know
‘cuz I won’t be outdone

Chorus

Every time I get attached
My heart is ripped to shreds
Leave my heart unguarded?
I’d be better off dead.
Now when things get serious
security will ring
And I will be spared from
another ill-fated fling

Chorus until end

I think this sounds really good!

It flows really nicely. I love it.
