After 3 grueling months of physical training, mental anguish and organized chaos, I'm able to reflect on my recent transformation from civilian to Marine. Nevermind the upcoming pun, but I look at myself in the mirror and I notice a difference; I stand a little taller. I'm damn proud of what I've just accomplished.

I was never a huge fan of the military because I've mostly been exposed to those in the Army. Not to speak ill of any other service, however, there's something about the Marine Corps that sticks out above the rest. No, I haven't been been brainwashed, and no, I'm not much of a Bush fan, BUT, I believe in the Corps and my Country.

My thoughts are jumbled and I'm having a hard time channeling hours upon hours of contemplation into a few paragraphs of internet forum banter. For those that read this, I apologize for the lapse in eloquency. For the moment, I need to just breathe it in and enjoy my entrance into the most elite fighting force/fraternity in the world.

Semper Fidelis.
