CB looks too wide now, but I'll get used to it. I see someone edited my layout for this update for Profile 2.0. Nice.

Yeah, my main complaint is the width. I always have my windows resized as for easy clicking everywhere and anywhere... the horizontal scroll is just annoying.

agreed. i guess that will change to a cb banner soon, which will be a little better. but still, it feels cluttered to me in general.
even then, the dropdown menus will cover it. on top of that, the dropdowns seem out of place with the stretch of the board. center it or something.

I don't find the wideness that much of a problem. It could be because my windows are ALWAYS maximized.

I like that it's wider (for pix), but perhaps it's a tad too wide. Before though, it seemed like there was wasted space on the sides.

wow this will take a while to get use too. would it be possible to get the boxed navigation on the top? without looks soo plain.
its really wiiiide.
look forward to having the skins back. Latte would be coming back right?

edit: aww man no affiliates link at the bottom?

also its great you didn't change the 100x100 icon for the 1.0 layouts. when i saw the new icon for the 2.0 i was dreading if it was the same for the 1.0

hmm im not sure how the boxed nav will look but ill give it a try internally. i should be able to port latte / mocha (without the boxed nav so far).

the affiliates are now at top. wanted to give it more exposure as an incentive for people to join.

what 100x100 icons? most of the thumbnails have been resized (html) but hasnt yet been properly resized (image) so they all look pixilated. ill make a script tonight to automagically resize and fix this.

QUOTE(mipadi @ Nov 12 2008, 07:54 AM) *
Yeah -- looks good, but now I have to scroll horizontally!

you need to use 1024 x 768 resolution or more. if its windowed, youll have to resize the browser accordingly.

QUOTE(Aberisk @ Nov 12 2008, 09:53 AM) *
you should keep Wp layouts, I tried submitting couple times but they never made it to the que :[ and Im sure there have been people who submitted, but after I upload the .zip file, a blank screen comes out, unlike when I submit myspace layouts, it says either I made a mistake during submission, or it will take a week to process the que 0_o
but I like the new CSS edit :]

the reason why i removed wp (even if the submitter wasnt working properly) is because they have their own internal theme browser which means its very very unlikely someone whos trying to set up wordpress will look for themes outside of wordpress.org. mt just isnt popular anymore, since they still use perl, when php has taken over the hosting industry 5 years ago.

QUOTE(kreios @ Nov 12 2008, 10:45 AM) *
You should have gotten rid of the Hi5 layouts, and kept the WP & MT, those are starting to get more popular.

One thing I noticed (don't know how easy it is to fix):

i replied to the same question above.

QUOTE(schizo @ Nov 12 2008, 11:09 AM) *
Woah, this is going to take a lot of getting used to.

I like it, but all the screenshots for the resources are super pixelated. That's the only thing that's bugging me.

the screenshots will be fixed tonight, once i finish a script to resize and reupload everything.

QUOTE(only-tuesdays @ Nov 12 2008, 11:34 AM) *
I agree on keeping the WP layouts too. I've been working on a few for submission. tongue.gif

since wp already has a theme selector internally i think it would be unlikely that anyone would look for themes elsewhere.

QUOTE(Tung @ Nov 12 2008, 01:57 PM) *
I think it was poorly done, and rushed imo. It is too cluttered, and you said you wanted it to look more professional. But I think it makes it look more distasteful though.

what was poorly done? why does it look distasteful? if youre going to criticize, at least have the decency to elaborate.

QUOTE(Mikeplyts @ Nov 12 2008, 02:30 PM) *
Yea. I like the old layout better. And yea, Gabi's right, I hate how the some of the screenshots are pixelated. And a lot seems cluttered. sad.gif

the screenshots will be fixed tonight.

QUOTE(paperplane @ Nov 12 2008, 02:53 PM) *
I hardly ever have my windows maximized, so having to scroll a shit ton to read things is a pain in the ass. I can't even see the whole fast reply box at once, and this window is more than half the width of my screen. I'd rather have to thumb people's pictures, thanks.

if you have your browser windowed, why not make the window larger? im assuming youre in front of a large monitor, in which case, you can enlarge the windows without much effect on other things you want to see. cb has "stetched" ~200px.

It's sort of unfair to assume that other people browse and manage their windows the same way as you do.

I always have my browser window width taking up only about half of my widescreen so I can work on papers, notes, etc at the same time as I'm on cB. The horizontal scrollbar would still be there, but I wouldn't have to actually use it to click on the "fast reply" button.

I don't really know many people who browse with their windows maximized.

That's just my two cents.

Oh, also, I think the "Submit!" link looked better to right of the search.

oh i apologize. the thing is, with the larger thumbnails, its not possible simply to change the col width using css. plus were adding to new sections to cb soon, which wouldnt fit 770px as well using the old navbar.

Hm... Is it possible to just change the width of the forum then?

I have to stretch the window to 80% the width of the screen not have to scroll, at which point I cannot do anything practically with the room that's left. But yes, the issue as Melissa mentioned is that I have to scroll now just to use fast reply. Other windows, like when I'm watching movies, will not let me resize the window small enough that it fits with the new cB width without it being dreadfully annoying.

I only use the forums; the size of the thumbnails are of no matter to me at all.

I agree with everyone else about the width of the forums. I don't have to scroll horizontally, but they look too wide. It was easier to read people's replies when the boards weren't so wide. It feels like when you go to website to read something and all that's there is text, so you need to resize the screen.

The navigation does seem a little cluttered with the ad right underneath. But as long the latte/mocha skins are coming back... haha.

what's the point of having it wider in the first place? i don't see why it needed to be wider really. especially since just about every complaint has been over the width.

it fits on my screen and i'm one of the select few who browse with my windows maximized and it still think it's too wide. if i was one of the people who has a horizontal scroll bar now i'd be pretty annoyed.

I think just a width of about 730px of posting space (minus all the profile info on the side) is good. aniwink.gif

On the other hand, it makes the essays I write from time to time look less intimidating.

Anyway I think it's a little too wide as well. And this is what cB used to look like, and we dealt with it before, so I really don't think it's a nuisance.

Btw, am I just stupid or is there no longer an Advanced Search button?
