It's probably just the way we are, James. I am stressed, but I don't think that's making a huge lot of difference. That's alright. We both came to terms with our semi-unpleasantness a while ago.

You know, I'm looking for somewhere to post something constructive and positive, and can't find a single interesting topic in the first three pages of the lounge. Perhaps I have high standards, but we used to have topics that were actually fun to participate in (*points to horrifying post count*).

QUOTE(×__Elle. @ Apr 29 2006, 3:53 PM) *
Your attitude towards other cB members who are not as "worthy" as you is basically the epitome of any elitism existing on this message board.

Just because someone makes a lot of typos, or doesn't use correct grammar, or makes a thread or posts something that you don't see as intelligent, should we ostracize them? Or have less respect for them? Of course not.

I mean really, don't take offense, but 90% of the time when I see a post of yours, it's something deragatory. You seem so strained on these forums. The way you make it sound, you're wasting your time with other people who aren't as acute as you, so why spend time here?

In her defense (not that she wants or needs me to defend her), usually when I see her saying something like that, the recipient deserves it. Sometimes when someone says something rude to another member, I'll be slightly irked and then scroll to the next post, which is her telling them to grow up or something along those lines. She may be blunt, but a good 90% of the time I agree with her and am silently glad she said what she did. Hmm.. *needs to find that "who are you a secret fan of" thread*

Oh, and I agree with Michael.. I find it slightly irritating that every thread needs to have a clear purpose, and it makes people have to think harder to twist their otherwise creative thread ideas into something they think can be discussed.

And I tell Sally this all the time, any time I reply to a thread, sometimes I get responses to my replies and I'm worried about replying back because I don't want to break the rules. This is what keeps people from leaving more than one reply in threads. They feel like if they make a post responding to another person, they have to add another line on at the end that ties it into the actual topic of the thread.. which, by the way, is exactly what I'm doing. My original post was just the first paragraph, and I'm editing this in.

i think that is definately a problem... discussion can be percieved as conversation. not that it bothers me, really, but some people care

lately, the lounge seem to be pretty active .. and laid back, not too much related to the topic. i sense some happiness that way. _smile.gif

anyone against it?

I mean, it's happening right now.

oh yeah, get micron here ;]

if that's how "laid back" that micron want ... ?\

PLEASE DO NOT WARN ME FOR BUMPING THIS OLD TOPIC. I THINK, THIS IS SOMETHING "GOOD" TO DISCUSS sad.gif

Why would you be warned for bumping this topic? That's riddikulus.

I like that people got over the repeating cB is boring phase and are making a lot of topics. I don't sense any tension so I'm happy. :D

I could use a trip down memory lane. Random thoughts seems to have been hit by spammers. But it was fun. And you still have your help wanted sign there. What ever happened to that vradio nation thing anyway?

No, the lounge should remain just the way it is (hopefully somebody *ahem* won't decide to bring up super old pointless topics from the dead or decide to put all of the spam topics as one HUGE spam topic). :]]

cb will get spammed to hell. no offense.
if it's unmoderated and spam flies everywhere, post counts shouldn't go up.

The more restriction we have, the more people will be happy enough to break 'em. I mean, where's the fun? I dont think fun is ... completely replying to the main topic questions.

that will discourage more members. look, how many guest do we have per day? Over 250 guests per day. amazing, huh? whynot, let them post whatever they want. over time, they'll learn to cooperate.

too much rules = lead to terror.

and besides, define "spam" in your own words. because, i really dont understand you.

for an example, look at this thread.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...=144092&hl=

what do you think? it's consider "fun" because these people are part of it. this thread isnt completely about stds haters. it consist of tight-knitted group of people who are having "fun".

let the posts and activity rise up. i think it would be entertaining to read.

as a matter of fact, it'll encourage active members to be part of cB. Look at the past before the cb revolution, alot of people left cB with above 1000 posts. did you know that? hm, i dont have proof for that but really, i'd seeen tons of 'em.

if things are boring, who wants to be part of it? It's not fun and encouraging. it sucks and terrible. look at me, i'm an old member, i use to be quite active until ...cB was less active which lead to boredom.

if we can make cb a bit more interesting, i bet more members would want to be part of it.

let me tell you my experience about my h.s Anime club.

during the beginning of the school year, the room was completely filled w/ people.

when weeks, and months pass by, it went down by ALOT. there was less than 1/4 of the people in the club because it was too dam boring. the club president doesnt do any new interesting shit, just some boring ass crap. it doesnt even pull our interest, it makes us want to leave and screw the club. and oh yeah, the reliability of the club was terrible. they would start drama with you since ... they're the "mod" (seniors) of the club.

so yeah, i hope you understand this.

----

this is only the beginning. if we can do this right as this time, more people will join. Dont let the chance go away. I'm willing to support cB's activity and FUN.

bring the cB Renaissance right now. _smile.gif

^I did read the last few pages and there is no definate answer. Please don't act like I didn't and try to tell me what to do. _smile.gif

I'm all for the idea. I know I speak for many when I say we're all tired of cB being run so strictly by power hungry mods. No offence, I like most of you guys, but frankly, that's the way some of you act. cB has lost its fun and I think this is a chance to bring it back. happy.gif

So yeah, I'll take micron's side on this one. He needs to put his foot down. He created the place after all.

I honestly thought you didn't so pardon me. _smile.gif And we did come to some sort of resolution. We did try the lenient thing but it didn't work out. But we have laxed the rules a little as well since then. We all decided to moderate what we feels needs to be moderated but keeping mind that Lounge is the most random forum we have and little off topicness and such isn't so bad from time to time.
