Trying to see if there are more people in this forum other than me that likes to put their bodies through misery and agony jogging long distances.

Currently training for a half-marathon... Any advice? The furthest distance I have ran is about 6 miles.

I've done 2 5ks now and a 5 mile run competitively. Best time for the 5k was like 22.xx and the 5 mile run was 38:55.

I have to admit I have been slacking on the running but I still can manage a 6:02 mile

I used to be able to run a mile in 5:56. Then I found the internet and drugs. Now I am pretty sure I can run it in 42 seconds flat. 30 if their is coke at the end. That's just estimated time, it's been awhile.

I am one of those people who is willing to put their bodies through agony. pinch.gif

I used to enjoy running: I ran cross country & track for my high school. My 5k time is about a 21 minutes..give or take. So your times seem to be pretty decent.

A 6:02 is not bad either, but there is room for improvement. My best advice is to just keep running, running running.. the best way also is to time your workouts. Each time should get faster, not slower. You'll have off days--but don't let that discourage you. wink.gif

Ya know, it's funny. I can run 4 miles easily, but after a few minutes of basketball I get so tired and short of breath. I dunno what it is. But yes I love jogging. My weakest link is my joints. My knees hurt after now long and my feet.

i'm not fit, but for my health class we have to run a mile under 10 minutes. i couldn't do it at first.. but my fastest was 9:03... still sucked, but now that health is over, I think i'll still continue to jog. (:

It's weird though because some people automatically assume I'm a coke head.

started cross country two years ago and fell in love with it. _smile.gif My home course is 5k with these annoying hills. My fastest is around 21 minutes, but not sub. You know what's the best? TRAIL RUNNING. Peaceful, always something new to catch your attention- it's the best place to be able to keep running for miles and miles.
