This really does nothing for me... It'll be one of those mediocre things that gets forgotten about a couple months after it's out.

Will Smith in no way fits a superhero character.

I think that is the point. It looks like they're going for the whole "anti-hero" thing.

QUOTE(XTC @ Jun 8 2008, 10:05 PM) *
Will Smith in no way fits a superhero character.

A good actor can play any type of persona. Perhaps you forgot that he's an A-list actor.

And as only-tuesdays mentioned, yea it's kind of like an anti-hero thing, but if you think about it, it's more of how the protagonist is forced to follow his destiny, rather than just ignoring it. So it starts out as anti-hero, leading to a umm.. "pro-hero" kind thing? Haha, I'm not even sure what words I should use to describe it.

Anyways, I really like the trailer. Although, I am not sure if this is going to be as amazing as I Am Legend, but hey Will Smith has NEVER LET ME DOWN. Of course I wasn't a fan of Independence day, he was still cool there. And no matter what, his one-liners are never cheesy, or he doesn't make them sound cheesy.

I think Will Smith is awesome and all, but he hasn't exactly been in the greatest movies recently, imo.

I dunno, I haven't even given I Am Legend a chance yet, even though I have it sitting in my basement. I was too discouraged by all the people who said it sucked.

My brother came back last night after watching Hancock, singing its praises and saying it's the funniest thing he's seen in a long time.

My brothers' sense of humour is warped at the best of times, though.

I like how superheroes are being portrayed as having normal problems. The trailer pulled me in because it's a movie about a rude, rough, drunk ass superhero, and then he meets a PR guy(Jason Bateman) and starts to turn it around. The movie delivered on this, and I liked it, but I wish they had capitalized on that more.

I saw it. It was absolutely fabulous. Buying it on DVD.
I thought Will Smith wouldn't really pull it off but he did, very well.
